Yeast infection that causes open sores but sounds alot like herpes.....

By far the most traumatizing experience of my entire life. Made an irresponsible decision & hooked up with a guy I knew. About a week later I started having pain while urinating. I didn't want to go to doctor because I didn't have insurance so I took antibiotics I had already from previous condition. Monday I went to health department so they said it was possible I had gonorrhea or chlamydia. Gave me a Z pack & a shot of antibiotics just as precaution. It helped none whatsoever. I spent the night in the bathroom with my face in a pillow screaming trying to pee. It felt like I was peeing straight acid. I went to ER Tuesday morning. They said it was just a chronic UTI. Wrote me prescriptions for more antibiotics, urinary tract relief, & some pain meds due to the fact I was balling my eyes out trying to give them a urine sample. About day 3-4 I started getting some relief but noticed something else was hurting. I took a mirror & looked & I had these open sores. They were not blisters...just looked like a had nicked my skin with a razor I'm several places near my vaginal area. I flipped out completely. I started researching & everything points to herpes. I woke up next morning & went straight back to health department. They took cultures & without any results or anything just told me right then & there 'you have herpes'. Something nobody wants to hear at the age of 21. I spent the next few days disgusted, not eating, stressed to the max, & taking acyclovir (herpes medication). They called me back the following week & said I needed to come in ASAP because my results came back as Staph instead of herpes. I was so relieved & scared at the same time. I get there, the doctor comes in & tells me they made a mistake & I don't have a vaginal staph infection & they weren't exactly sure. So here I go on the roller coaster of emotions again. Back to several doctors exam me & say 'herpes'. I was literally on the verge of throwing up because I was so disgusted. I left in absolute anger because they couldn't give me answers from my cultures they took a week before hand. A week is a long damn time when you feel like your whole world is crashing down. I went directly to ER again because I needed answers & I needed them NOW. My mental state was far far gone by this point. I explained to the nurses & doctors that I done my research & read every single thing related to herpes. I had no symptoms, the sores were not anywhere close to a herpes sore, & reminded them several times I did not have this until I took all the antibiotics for STI's & my UTI. There were 3 doctors that came in to examine me. Not one of them took into consideration what I was saying. One of the doctors came back with my discharge papers...it read 'Diagnosis -Genital Herpes'. I felt the color leave my face. I have never in my entire life cried that hard...to the point of literally hyperventilating. I walked out to my car & just sat there with my head on the wheel sobbing hysterically. Worst day of my life. Welllll, moral of the story....one week later, my results all came back NEGATIVE!!! It was a yeast/ bacterial infection. Never knew I would be that damn mad over not having herpes but I couldn't help but feel rage. Such careless doctors assuming any type of sore in your vaginal area is automatically HSV. They had no way of knowing just how many tears I cried, hours of sleep I lost, & the emotional trauma I went through because of them jumping to conclusions. I'm so glad I found this post, at least I know now I'm not the only one that's been through this. One thing that did come out of it, I learned a valuable lesson. I will NOT be having sex without protection again. Terrifying wake up call.

sounds like HSV.

I'm kinda having the same problem . only I have a kinda big rip down there and I have a bunch of little and big bumps but my bumps look like they're growing hair out of them . is that how yours were ?

I am having the same thing just it doesnt really hurt to pee. i just pee a lot. what did your sores look like i have an appointment friday and im so scared. I have weird discharge kind of like a yeast infection but a little brown, i just ended my period though... any description of the sore would be great. there are three small ones on my labia and they arent that bad anymore or really hurt anymore but still the discharge is weird and ITS SORES! Thank you.

I'm going through the same thing . my partner is usually clean , & hasn't had any symptoms of anything , but these sores are so horrible & waiting on the herpes test is killing me . I'm so emotional because it's so scary . how long did it take your blood work to come in for the herpes test?

So glad I found this! Same thing, different order. Itching first, thought yeast infection. Did Monistat with no relief. GYN on vacation so called in diflucan. Sores all over within a day or two. Couldn't pee or sit down. GYN said go to non-emergent clinic. Physical exam said blisters do not look like herpes. Urine sample showed UTI. Was beginning to think misdiagnosis as she said sores were from scratching and I haven't been scratching. A&D diaper rash ointment has been a lifesaver. Soothing the itching and pain and can pee without crying.

Its crazy I have the same thing but I can tell u how I got mine. I had a yeast infection. I had bern iyching my vagina . Lightly . I brought mobistat and that was a biggest mistake ever. My sh*t felt like it was on fire. And I dident understand why. Every time I peed I cried. The next day. I took a mirror down there. And I saw I had deep open cuts. I was like wow. No wobder still even after the yeast infection is gone. It hurt while I peed. The yeast I b fection also made my lymph nodes hurt on the sides in my vagina. My vagina itself was swollen. I heard it takes a while for it to heal. But this sux. I keep applying healing oitments to it with zinc. Hoe long did did yours take to heal. Your open wounds

I am 25 years old and am experiencing vaginal sores. A little backstory about two years ago I had a couple sores in my anal region I immediately had them tested and everything came back fine. Even the doctor said she was pretty sure they were not herpes.fast forward to now, about two weeks ago my partners and I had pretty rough sex and at one point I began very dry and we both had areas that became very raw. His healed in about 2 days but I noticed the bottom of my vagina was very red and inflamed. I often experience a small tear in that area after sex. In the next couple days after I was still very sore and started to noticed some sores. They didn't look like typical herpes but the ones that are in my inner labia are pretty tender and raw I'm guessing due to the moisture. I went to the doctors and was told I have both a yeast infection and bv. I was given a single does of fluconazole and clindamycin to take for a week. I Can't really tell if I'm improving. The excruciating pain when I pee seems to be subsiding but my discharge has changed in consistency and has a different odor( not really fishy I don't think) the sores that are healing are use becoming less sensitive but not scabbing. Atthis point I'm really scared and confused and waiting for the results is torture. 

I have had numerous sexual partners, which makes me feel like a w****. I have been diagnosed with HPV 2 years ago but have not seen anything since then. Ever since I have gotten the Nexplanon implant I have been having vaginal dryness and "paper cuts" on the opening of my vagina. I read that it's side effects are vaginal dryness, vaginal infections and so on. This past month my cuts have gotten worse- turning into hole like cuts along with the same paper cut looking things on the outside of my vaginal entrance and once above my urethra where I pee. My vagina burns kinda like and icy/hot burn regularly and I keep messing wiht the cuts to see what it might be causing dryness and irritation. I had a yeast infection Aug. 25th and took a fluconazole but started to have reoccurring problems with my vagina. I got sick around Sept. 13th for 4 days and took some tylenol cold a flu pills. I just don't know if these are signs of Herpes or stress, or the birth control.I'm just so stressed, so I went to the clinic today and my doctor said she has seen cuts like that that look like herpes. I was tested for a UTI and yeast infection and both were negative.. I had blood work done for HSV 1&2 and am waiting on the results back.

I am curious, since my birth control does not have estrogen if my vagina is getting infections and dryness. I don't know what to do and I have been so stressd out the past 3 weeks. What if this is herpes, anyone know?!

Hey guys my name is Mimi. I'm going ape sh*t over her! I'm experiencing some sores at the top of my vagina (right above my clitoris, below my pubic region) that don't hurt but only when bothered. It all started off as a yeast infection which included itchy vag lips and opening, burning and it was very red. Went doctors and he gave me the canesten pessary and cream to get rid of it and it worked! However only for a couple of weeks... Next minute the feeling of itchy lips came back so I went doctors. They examined me and said everything looked normal but I should visit the sti clinic. I went and the doctor looked and said nothing looked out of the ordinary but did test my discharge and said I had more bacteria (bv) down there than usual, he said this clear up on its own but gave me metronidazole anyway. I didn't take it cause I thought it would go on it own. It got worse and I started noticing that it was IMPOSSIBLE to pee as it burned so bad! I noticed a sore in the vag lips which was painful. I also noticed my vag was swollen and that's when the sore appeared above my clit, like an open sore. It doesn't look like the herpes ive seen so i took the metronidazole and it seemed to be clearing up the swelling, the lump went and I could slowly but surely pee again. Anyway fast forward I went to the sti clinic cause the sores were going but I wanted to get checked again cause I was sure it was herpes. The doctor at the sti clinic automatically diagnosed me with herpes, took a culture test gave me aciclovir, booked me an appointment at the hsv clinic without really consulting me about anything! I've been crying non stop, can't focus at work and the guy I was seeing who gave me this doesn't even care. I feel so alone ive have been praying constantly but the aciclovir hasn't done nothing for me at all. I should be getting results back today (Saturday 8th nov) and I'm freaking out cause I've convinced myself that it is herpes. I will update you guys on my results later on but I'm pretty I have contracted something.

Hey it's Mimi again. Unfortunately I have been diagnosed with herpes hsv 2. I'm absolutely devastated and have been crying all day. I just can't see how I'm gonna cope with this.
