I hope I am in the same boat as most of you ladies. I have only had two sexual partners and I am 23 years old. Both monogamous and had talks about past sexual history (the first was tested and said he was clean, second not tested but said he was clean). First boyfriend I dated for 3 years w/ no issues. Second boyfriend I dated for 5 months starting last January first time we had sex was probably in February then we broke up in the beginning of May. No initial outbreaks or anything out of the ordinary...always have had normal paps + exams. Also, I have not been sexually active in any way since we broke up (little over 7 months...dry spell I guess!).
Normally before my period I get somewhat itchy and have a fair amount of discharge (yuck sry). On Sunday night I was itchy and went at it (fingernails a little long..again yuck sry). I also would like to add that I too finished a 2 week round of Amoxicilian for a sinus infection one week before all this went down. Well, Monday morning I noticed that things were a little swollen and it felt like I had a small tear (I have gotten them from sex before), it didn't really change throughout the day so I went and got a mirror and took a look. To my surprise I had one red sore on the inside as well as two smaller sores. They were not filled with puss or anything just looked raw and a little white due to discharge I think. At this point I am on the floor of the bathroom hyperventilating. I have had 2 partners my whole life and was safe! Girls in college called me a prude and joked about how I lost my virginity at 21. I thought I did everything right. I mean could I really have herpes?!?
I immediately called the doctor to make an appt. and luckily got one the next day -- if you say you have a sore they will work you in w/ priority no matter how busy it is. Couldn't sleep last night, haven't been able to eat much of anything. I go in this morning trembling and basically about to cry because I am feeling like what else could it be?? My doc questioned me and then took a look. She said that it did not look like textbook herpes and that typically the first outbreak is "quite traumatic" meaning there are oozing puss filled blisters all over. I only have 3 and have not developed more. She said that she's going to run a culture test to see what it is but to mentally prepare myself for the possibility that it could be herpes.
I know that the results could prove it wrong but I am just so nervous. My whole life is flashing before my eyes. How would I date? Have a normal sex life? Find a husband? Kiss? Keep it a secret? What if I date someone and it ends badly then they tell everyone I have it? So many questions...
The virus has such a negative connotation you can't really talk to people about it without them thinking you are a leper. My mom and I are very close and she is the only one who knows.
At this point the doctor gave me anti-virus cream to put on the sores (which is a herpes medication). So far I cannot tell if it's working or not but I will say that the sores have gotten more painful and I have had more discharge. Now I feel the awful burning sensation when I pee that so many have described.
I am preparing myself for the worst but praying it is not herpes. I will update with results as soon as I get my test back.
The next 2-3 days are going to be hell...

I'm not for telling people they're wrong but I looked all across the Internet for even just one picture of warts that looked similar to mine and couldn't find a single one, but plenty of herpes that look similar. It's now Saturday, my groin lymph nodes were swollen last night and I'm in so much pain I can't move.the medicine she gave me for the "warts" is like applying acid to open wounds, which I am. Using the restroom is only okay if I pour a cold glass of water down my crotch with it or hop in the tub. Did you ever come to a conclusion on what your condition was because I'm beginning to worry. They haven't been able to tell me what I actuay have not have I recieved any antibiotics

I am having the same problems with little sores on my labia. My doctor's office prescribed me some lidocane to numb it. They also told me to put crisco on my vagina when I urinate. That was a waste. I picked up some triple antibotic ointment and I am using that to try and heal the rip in my labia that makes it unbearable when I have to urinate. I also thought of urinating while in the shower. There is no pain when i do that. I am going to be calling my doctor's office in the morning because I just started my period and so I am in a real mess now!!!

I've been freaking out too, although it seems like a bad yeast infection than anything else. But these sores are driving me crazy! I had to think back to when I had a yeast infection back in high school (my first and only one till now) and I do remember some sores in my vagina, but it wasn't this bad. It all started the day after I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and the poor thing ended up getting yeast infection symptoms too, a couple days after I did. I did all the OTC stuff, the itching has subsided, it's just now the pain and burning is left. I'm not sure what stuff I could use that comes over the counter for some relief. And on top of all this, I'm having my period.

Well, the blisters or sores have now went away. I started using Vagisil, which then seemed to help dry them up and heal them. Most people want to jump to the conclusion of herpes, but that's not always the case. I think sometimes when someone has a yeast infection, it can get so irritated down there, that it may cause blisters or sores. I think in my case, I made the mistake of shaving down there when I was having my yeast infection, and I remember nicking myself. A day or so after that is when the blisters started showing up here and there. I do have to say that urinating was horribly painful, but now I can go to the bathroom without any pain at all, which I am thankful for. So, I do recommend Vagisil, it may be messy, but it does get the job done after a few days of using it.
