My son's right eye only keeps blacking out, 7 times since November 2008. Sometimes closes in like a funnel, sometimes from the nose to the right. never headaches or dizziness; an active boy. blood and urine tests were normal, with slightly high cholesterol, and the CT scan proved normal, also. one friend said her nephew had a year of true color blindness at age 13, finally being diagnosed with hormone flushes. Another friend said her son went blind twice in one eye with headaches while he was in puberty. My neurologist didn't agree that hormones could be the cause. I would love some info on this...thanks so much.

When i was younger (a bit older than 7 though) I had the most terrifying experience of my whole life. I was at school in a lesson and suddenly noticed that the white board was getting fuzzier and fuzzier, i had to ask a friend if it was just me. I was eventualy escorted to the medical room by a friend, practicaly blind in both eyes, i could only make out colours and fuzzy shapes. I suppose a bit like when you get makeup remover in your eye. I went home and immediately fell asleep, waking up a few hours later with a horrendous headache. My doctor said that migrains often cause blindness and its quite common, especialy if the person is under stress. If he's had cat scans and everything then I wouldnt be too concerned. Hopefully he'll grow out of it.
