Hello

I was at the eye Doctor with my husband,  and he was told he had pressure in his eyes what is this?  and how serious is this eye condition?

 
also what is have eye floaters? I think I may have this,  since I see what apperars like little dark specks in my vision

Hi Srat,

Pressure in the eye is monitored to check for glaucoma.  If high, it can lead to blindness by causing damage to the optic nerve.  It's called "Intraocular pressure."

He may be put on meds to lower this pressure or it may be monitored.

Floaters are very common.  As you get older, the vitreous humor can break down and you see "floaters."  Usually they are not a serious concern or indicative of a problem.

My eye doctor also said that "floaters" could be a sign of retinal detachment.

So if you suddenly see a lot of floaters or a severe change in your vision, get to any eye doctor soon since there are procedures to repair the detachment.
