Hello!

My last normal period was at the end of February.  In March I had cramps and slight bleeding when I would have had my period.  Every since then I have had light bleeding intermittently.  I have taken about six pregnancy tests and they have all been negative.  My breast size has been fluctuating but is currently normal sized.  I have not gained weight and don't look 5 months pregnant.  I went to planned parenthood and they tested me (it was negative) but felt my abdomen and said my uterus was enlarged.  I have almost constant cramping now and bloody, mucusy discharge.  Within the last week I've been feeling what can only be described as "kicking" in my abdomen.

I am only 17 and can't schedule any appointments without parental consent.  I obviously do not want a baby now, but more than that how could it be healthy with all of the blood loss?  Again, I have not gained any sort of weight.  I just do not know what to do now.  Does anyone have any idea what's going on?  Maybe a hormonal imbalance?  How would I correct this?

Thanks.

I can definitely say that what you are going through isn't pleasant and is probably causing you a lot of stress! I remember being very paranoid about pregnancy myself and I too felt kicking, without any baby belly and I was getting my periods regularly, when obviously I wasn't pregnant. You did not state anything about your sexual activity? Did you have sex in the time before your period in March? Did the people at planned parenthood give you any other reasons why your uterus would be enlarged? I know you must be terrified about talking about this with your parents, but in the case of what you are going through I do suggest you see a doctor. You do not have to tell them that you suspect pregnancy, just tell them your issues and say you have no idea what might be causing them (because you really do not). A doctor can run a blood test and even possibly do an ultrasound. There could be other EVEN MORE SEVERE causes of this. It could be however just hormone imbalances too, especially at your age they happen as you grow up, but still, I strongly suggest getting it checked out. Also, have you had any change in lifestyle, stress levels, diet, exercise routines? These could also contribute to your body's abnormalities.

I hope this helps and if you have any other questions, please let me know and I will do my best to help! Remember, they are your parents and you should not fear talking to them, especially when you could have something that is risking your health.
