I am 30 i also had this happen last two nights ive been cramping to the point of tears . Ive had a misscarriage in the past and the cramps were much the same but this time i havent had sex in 4 months been on birth control non stop for 3 of those months i didnt stop the pills but the cramping and spotting started anyway so i figured i would go ahead and stop the pills for a week much to my surprise after the secound night of cramping so badly i went to the bathroom and out came a big fleshy looking sac scared me to death never seen anything like it , its pretty gross not sure if i should take it to the doc or not if feel like the statement the er doc told jen on here about the whole uterus lining shedding at once makes since but im still worried any thoughts.........concerned female with lots of pain

I had the same thing, got really freaked out when i went to the toilet and a tissue/flesh like substance had been discharged, i'd been on the pill for 2 months came off and 3 days later i had the worst pains of my life, the next morning all this happened. i searched stuff on the internet:
its common for a fleshy lining to build up in the uterus, especially if you are on the pill because you can not have a period for months. this lining becomes detached and breaks down when you come on your period and is discharged in large clumps. usually it is not noticed because the layer can be very thin, however over time it can build up and increase in thickness. do not worry and especially don't think you are having a miscarriage

hi i found this site because the same thing happened to me after taking tablets from the doctor to delay my period while on holiday, excruciating period pains then a large piece of tissue discharged. after reading the info on here i think it was the lining coming off in one piece which is good to know because it was very worrying not knowing what it was.
The reason i am replying is to reassure people that think it may have been a miscarriage, that although i obviously can not speak for your experience they all sound very similar to mine and it is impossible for it be a miscarriage for me as i am a virgin, i hope this helps people who were feeling they may have lost a child.

Shedding the lining of the uterus, which is called the "endometrium" is a natural part of menstruation. If pregnancy does not occur, the lining of the uterus is shed. This is what periods are. From what I have been finding online, it is uterine lining. a lot of women have this problem either while on birth control, or shortly after coming of it. I am going to my doctor today, I'll let you guys know what they say

My doctor put me on tablets for 10 days to force a period. He said the same medicine is used to delay a period while on holiday. After I stopped taking the pills, three days later I had light spotting. Then a fleshy lump came out that looked more flesh than blood. After reading posts here I too think it was just a large piece of uterus coming off at once.
Note I have also had weight gain, tender breasts, and enlarging stomach or womb area. But pregnancy tests have been negative and my husband has had a vasectomy years ago so only 1 in a 1,000 chance I was pregnant. Thanks for writing girls as my mind is at ease now.

after reading all the forum i hereby by experience make you young ladies sure that It( the clot) has got nothing to do with any kind of miscarriage at all
To speak in less scientific way,This usually happens to ladies who actually use some kind of medication or pill to say (in most cases),the blood cells have a reaction and build up a clot which you can also see when a wound fills with puss.the puss here clots the blood a bit more than other parts of body which makes it thick and a bit solid because of its nature ,ie libidiol starch which makes blood stick to it.thus forming your so called substance and size vary completely on amount of that starch produced.
So to conclude that this just happens as a rarity and there is nothing to worry at all,,If problem persist its always wise to see a doctor

I found this website while trying to find out what I've just lost.
I missed my period for 3 months. I did 4 pregnancy tests, all were negative. I went to my doctor who did blood tests for the menopause and sent me for an ultrasound scan to see if I had pcos. My Oestrogen levels were 1301 and he said I was ovulating. Just before my ultrasound I started my period , i had terrible stomach cramps and unusually heavy period. I lost really big clots . This happened daily for 3 weeks. Eventually I went to my doctor and he gave me tablets to stop my period. A week ago my period started again, then two days ago I lost what I thought was another blood clot until I looked. It was pink and fleshy. It looked like a chicken fillet . Then I lost another the same size. So I took them to my doctor who has just sent them for testing. He said it's not a blood clot it's flesh. Asked me could I have been pregnant. I'm 44 .

Hi everyone, I notice everyone went through the same thing, passing something large and tissue like but no one has said what this is. It happened to me today, I went to the bathroom and it was on my TP when I wiped. :* I cried and freaked out but I saved it and called my doctor. My bleeding has been going on for 6 weeks (I'm 35 and have two children). The doctor examined me and said I am bleeding abnormally, sent the sample to the lab and it will take a week to process the results of what it is and why. Hopefully I can get some answers. I have to go back in a week for that and next step is a biopsy. I'll keep u posted as I find out. I am glad after reading these posts that there may be an answer once the lab results come back.

Ok Im only 16 years old, but im on the Depo shot. I am a virgin and this happened to me this morning after very bad cramping. I took a shower in hopes of it going away but after a few minutes I looked down and there were 2 of these "tissues" floating around the size an apricot. I was freaking out and thought of the miscarrige thing but its EXTREMELY impossible seeing as I have been single for the past year AND am virgin. Since being on the Depo shot, I am supposed to have 'light spotting' to 'no period' at all. So when I saw this I was very freaked out. But I guess it could be that since I've been on the shot, my uturus began to shed in whole pieces but its done the whole tissue thing twice and I am going to ask my doctor hear soon, because being a teen, it's freaking me out.

I just had my left ovary removed and the final pathology report was good to which I am so thankful as I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago. I have made a full recovery since my mastectomy. However, my Doctor told me when they explored the abdomen, there was a period stuck inside me. She was not concerned or thought it to be odd. It is very strange hearing this discovery since I had my uterus and right ovary removed 13 years ago. The doctor said the ovary was trying to work. I am glad it's gone as it will help to decrease my chances of breast cancer reoccurrence. I am home recovering and decided to search this unusual finding and saw your post. I encourage all women to stay on top your health. The best method to curing cancer is early detection. Listen to your body, your womanly intuition and stay healthy.

This just happened to me. I knew I couldn't be pregnant because it has been a while since I was last sexually active. I wonder though if it is due to another condition that I was just recently made aware of about me; I found out about four months ago that I have uterus didelphys, which means that I have two different uteruses with their own corresponding cervix, and one of the symptoms of this condition is dysmenorrhea. Now, my periods have always been very unpleasant due to this genetic anomaly and I have always had clots but never this size (roughly an inch to an inch and a half in length...) or firm. I don't know if anyone in this forum is familiar with this condition or not, but any information would help! (Thank you to the previous posters as well for asking the questions and sharing the experiences and stories!!!)
