I just got Mirena inserted and i was on my period during it but my period has stopped and there's a lot of dry blood stuck in my cervix. I'm very worried about this because I don't know if this is normal should I talk to my doctor or is this normal and will is subside after a couple of days?

Same thing happened to me!! I was at work and the pain almost made me black out. I was having cold sweats went to the bathroom and felt a big clump of something come out but didn't see it because it went into the toilet hole... Thought it was really strange went to the doctor, they found that I had polycycstic ovaries but said that wouldn't be related to any excruciating pain. So the problem went away for a while and it just came back about a year later. This time the thing that came out was about the size of a small tampon and looked fleshy too. I was freaked out and didn't know what to do so I just flushed it. I plan on calling the doctor tomorrow to see what they think. I've been on birth control since 18 and am 28. I stopped taking it for a few months not too long ago and often skip periods with the pills and wonder if that has something to do with it. Uterus lining shedding at once makes sense to me too... I just hope there's a way to prevent it because the pain is hardly bearable.

This happens to me from time to time. I have had a mirena for 3 years and have not had a period for at least 2 1/2 years. I pass nickel size tissue but it is almost clear/off white. It's just the lining of my uterus shedding. Since there's really not much blood accumulating in my uterus I assume that is why it's not bloody like a period clot which is pretty much the same thing with period blood. About once a month this happens for a few days. I figure it is my body's form of a monthly period. If that makes sense???? I'm 40 years old and got the mirena to help very heavy periods. I received an endometrial biopsy to eliminate any non hormone related problems and everything was just fine. Keep getting your annual exams and pay attention to your body :)

Yes I had a similiar thing happen and although relieved to see i'm not the only one, I'm very anxious to find out what exactly it is... I don't think it's a miscarriage.. I used condoms then got the BC injection and waited the full 7 days.. but i've never had cramps so painful in my life and never, ever seen anything like it before... I see my dr. but not for a couple weeks..

so sorry to hear that... I just went thru the same thing this morning and you're right: the pain was unbearable - I thought I was going to pass out... I just got the birth control injection about a month ago so I'm wondering if that's what caused it for me? they told me I wouldn't get my period but i unfortunately have had spotting for nearly 3 weeks which has just recvently turned into a full out period with the worst cramps i've ever had in my life.. and now this very weird discharged mass... i see my dr., but not for a couple weeks.. I really doubt it was a miscarriage. can you please let me/us know if you find out anything about what it was for sure and if we can prevent it in the future. tthx. good luck.

I had something like this happen to me about 6 months after I had my daughter I hope you having cramps so bad I had to get in my bathtub turn on hot hot water getting in there having labor pains it felt for 20-30 minutes then something weird came out with huge who had polyps all over it or bump I guess and it was completely flush eat very very little blood only blood that came out was what came out of me not not much wood sticking to it kind of looks like a shape of a fetus but I highly doubt it because I had just had a baby maybe she had at all and I don't know but the doctors gave me a pelvic ultrasound they said everything was intact up there but they don't know what it is still it went down the drain I never took it to the doctors scariest moment of my life I thought my bladder came out or possibly her twin very very odd the doctor did say it was probably just in my uterus lining and so did my mother but they never had anything happen like that to them so why would they say that?

I'm 18 years old, I'm prone to UTIs and yeast infections because I have an extremely weak immune system. These last few days I've had symptoms of a uti and yesterday the pain was horrible all day I went to the store and bought AZO urinary pain relief tablets. They didn't end up working this time which was weird, then this morning I got up to pee. It didn't hurt at all when I peed and when I wiped it was bloody. Which I was expecting I was supposed to start my period 2 days ago. Only the blood was from a piece of flesh the size of a grape and it scared me very badly. I have cramp pains now. No one knows what this is??

My sex drive has gone away completely with the Mirena! I'm only 20 years old and should not be having this issue. I also have peed out A LOT of tissue and bright red blood. This Mirena IUD seems to be unsafe for us women and there should be a stop to this. Sex is no longer included in my 3 year relationship because it is also VERY painful for me.

i have just had this. exactly how you described it. i've been sat here for the past half hour trying to work out what it is. its really freaked me out massively. i lost a baby three months ago but i also lost a baby last year and never experienced anything like it even after having my son. i've put it in some fresh tissue and going to take it for my gp too have a look at what it could be.

You're are the only one that has said your bleeding has lasted for over a normal period. This is happening to me right now and it's been happening for almost over a month. The amount of blood I am losing its crazy and I had one of the meaty substance come out the size of my palm and when I picked it up it had some weight to to it and before it came out I was in so much pain in my lower stomach near my left hip. The pain lasted for about three days and I couldn't get out of bed I didn't want to eat I just cried. And finally on the 3rd day it came out of me and my pain has stopped but the bleeding hasn't and every now and then I get a little pressure in my tummy especially when I bend down. Since I dropped that big ball of meat I have dropped so many that I can't even remember how many of them I have dropped so far. Do you mind sharing what the doctors told you? Or does anybody know what this is?

I used birth control when I was 16 but only after a week of taking it the first time I experienced bad symptoms from bleeding to pain and lots of weight loss. Much later I tried it again and only took a few days worth. I was scared and stopped but the bleeding didn't it went on for weeks after. From what I'm seeing here it must be our body's reaction to birth control. What made me read this was I had never searched what it may have been that I passed. It was similar in size but not description. I also thought it could be a miscarriage at the time. Now I'm 25 almost 26 and I've never gotten pregnant and never used birth control since.
