Hi, I have a 5 year old son that was born with one testicle, his left testicle didn't descend into the scrotum and was removed by surgery, the problem is that his right testicle isn't developing properly, we have regular visits to the hospital and they have done lots of diffrent tests including hormone injections to try to stimulate the testicle but it dosen't look very hopefull, they think he won't be able to have children, the hospital has told us he can have implants when he is a teenager, for cosmetic reasons, but we were wondering if it would be possible for him to have a testicle transplant from a close famliy member, as we feel it is such a big thing in life not to have children, we were wondering if you have any information at all that may help us.

thankyou

It is being worked on, though it will be an up hill battle due to ethical restraints. I also suggest that you have the doctors insert implants well before he is a teen. It is common practice to do so, and is a fairly minor surgery. For psychological reasons, many feel that this is important.
