When it comes to staying young forever, preventative measures are more effective than treatments. People who work to maintain their youth are often in better physical shape and experience a sense of well-being that promotes good emotional health.
It may seem as though there is more emphasis on looking and feeling young now than ever before, however, our obsession with finding the eternal fountain of youth dates back to centuries ago. It makes sense — our mortaility itself is not even the scariest part, after all. Nobody wants to live with the limitations that the normal aging process tends to impose.

Now that so many celebrities are in the spotlight on television and social media outlets, society has constant access to dozens of (usually heavily Photoshopped) pictures, videos and images of older women who appear to be half their age. While much of their youth can be credited to plastic surgery, fillers, extreme fitness, and diet routines, expensive skin care products and even digital altering of imaging, credit should also be given to those people who employ natural health techniques to improve their health and take years off of their appearance.

Let’s face it... young people are associated with beauty. Professional runway models can be seen as ‘over the hill’ by the time they reach the age of 23, and all too often a talented, seasoned actress in her mid to upper 30’s is passed over for a movie role in favor of a less talented actress simply because she is in her 20’s. It’s no wonder we as a society are so obsessed with staying younger.

Americans spend billions of dollars a year to banish wrinkles and tighten skin, even when they know it is unlikely they will enjoy the impressive results they were promised.

Many other cultures do not share our views on aging. In fact, in some areas of the world, advanced age is synonymous with beauty, as well as wisdom and experience. Because we do not mirror these beliefs, we are constantly seeking out ways to turn back the hands of time and restore ourselves to the days of our youth. In the United States, the anti-aging business has grown by leaps and bounds in the last decades, with Americans spending billions of dollars a year to banish wrinkles and tighten their naturally aged skin. From over the counter beauty products to prescriptions face creams to professional spa products, the anti-aging sector of the health and beauty field is showing no signs of slowing down.

Vanity aside, there are other reasons why some individuals want to stay young forever, not all of them superficial. Individuals who work to maintain their youth are often in better physical shape, have better physical health and experience a sense of well-being that promotes good emotional health and continued high energy.

When it comes to staying young forever, preventative measures are much more effective than treatments after the fact. It’s easier to maintain a youthful appearance than it is to restore youth to an aging appearance. So naturally, if you want to stay young forever, your best bet is to take steps to promote youthfulness before you face age-related changes.

Aside from the obvious factors such as the need to avoid smoking and drinking alcohol, protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun’s rays, eating a healthy and balanced diet, and getting enough exercise every week, there are some additional tips that you can use to maintain your youth and help you stay young forever.
