Help i have no one to talk to because i have been hiding my addiction. I have been taking lortab 10mgs for 2 yrs for knee pain and migraines. My primary dr prescribes them but i take much more than prescribed. I have become addicted and take 10-12 daily and i am ready to quit for the sake of my baby but have been told the withdrawals could cause miscarriage and this is my first baby! My concern is for my baby and i want to taper off..does anybody know a good taper plan and will these pills cause birth defects? Only positive comments pls

Just know that for one bring honest with your OBGYN is the BEST thing you can do. I have been pregnant while on pian medication because of three botched brain surgeries. My doctor told me it was going through detox can cause miscarriage especially if you try it on your own. My doc advised me to stay on mine because of the sole fact I am in excruciating pain without that medication which would have caused a miscarriage by the stress it would put on my body. I will be honest with you, I didn't make it through my pregnancy for a completely unrelated issue but not every doctor will be horrible to you. You were prescribed this medication and while you did abuse it being on a med like that for that long WILL cause dependence and sometimes addiction. For your sake and your babys sake tell your doc- tell them you don't know what to do, be honest and remorseful because if you cannot do that for your unborn child what will you be like when the baby is really here right in front of you?
Also on a side note taking that much Tylenol per day is terrible for you and your baby. Best luck to you, and stay strong you are not a BAD PERSON, life happens but if you do the right thing you are not a bad person. :)
