I am 8-1/2 weeks pregnant , and I have one son. I have also had 4 miscarriages. When I was 5 weeks pregnant , I landed in the hospital, due to a "pregnancy" cyst (which was described to me as what feeds the baby until the placenta takes over) rupturing. The obgyn put me on prometruim (200mg) twice a day. She said that it is just to help me along until the placenta takes over. She said that it is usually prescibed to woman who have had a history of miscarriage, it is a hormone therapy. This is not guaranteed to prevent miscarriage, however increases your odds drastically of having a normal, healthy pregnancy. Hope this helps everyone.
