My 82 yr old disabled Dad has had a painful testicle, (thinking he had caught it somehow) for a few days. I checked it this morning and it is also very hard on one side. He takes about 12 tablets a day for various illnesses. (IF LIST NEEDED PLEASE LET ME KNOW). Please help. I am his full time carer and live with him 24/7 since he had heart failure in August causing delirium, which has improved but raises its ugly head now and again. He does'nt do anything physical, mainly sits watching television all day. Could this have caused this problem? Please help.    Thankyou

Hi Wendy,

There are a number of issues that could result in a swollen testicle.  It could be due to infection or trauma.  Is he on a catheter?  That would increase the risk of an infection.

He should see his doctor for an exam.  It can become very uncomfortable.

Hi Dan,

Thankyou, yes he has a catheter and has had a few UTI's in the last few months. Thankyou very much for your advice. The trouble with calling doctor is that he needs a visit and of all the 'several' times I have requested a home visit I have had 1 doctor visit, and usually just get diagnosis over the phone and anti-biotics to pic up at the chemist. They don't seem to want to visit patients anymore and are happy for me to tell them what is wrong with him. But I will give it a try.
Again thankyou
Regards
Wendy
