I was taking 400 mg of oxycodone per day. My habit started 3yrs ago with a back problem. I started only taking 2 10 mg of hydrocodone per day for about 6 mos. It progressed into a life threatning addiction. Many people think this can't happen to them. But it can happen to anyone. I've been taking suboxone & lexapro for about 6 mos now. I've had no cravings. The first few months I battled with sleeping & eating properly, also mild to moderate depression. But I am here to tell you, this is a life threatning disease, no matter what point you are at in your addiction. Suboxone saved my life. Many people think there is no way out, but there is. When you take painkillers or opiates of any kind, not only are you killing your liver, but distroying your brain receptors that allow your body to produce natural painkillers. 5 yrs of opiate use, is almost equivalent to a lifetime abuse on your brain, depending on what and how much is used. Oxycontin is actually more damaging to your brain than street heroin. Please take my advice and know there is another way out before it is to late. Check out HBO.com under the Addiction documentary. Don't be afraid, you are not alone.
