Hi, I'm 24 years old and I've had a problem with drinking alcohol for a while. At first I was always ill after being out, I would go to bed and sleep for a few hours, before waking up around 4am and feeling really hot and sick where I would then be sick until the morning, it would usually only be yellow coloured flem, no food. I went to see my GP who said I was producing too much acid and put me on Omeprazole tablets to control this. He also told me to make sure to only drink on a full stomach This helped for a while, but recently I have been to three weddings and been sick during the evening. I eat the wedding breakfast with alcohol around 3-4pm, by 9-10pm I am feeling very hot and sick which comes over me very quickly, I am then sick until I have nothing left in my stomach (usually some food comes up) and then I am fine for the rest of the evening and the next day. Has anyone else experienced this or know of something i could try to stop this?

You have alcohol intolerance.
You're body is missing the necessary enzymes (alcohol dehydrogenase) to break down the alcohol. As alcohol is a poison, if un-metabolised, the body take things into it own hands by ejecting the poison through the mouth, much as it would do with food poisoning.
I have this problem too - vomiting, headaches. There's not much I can do other than be really careful when I drink.
