I was told by my doctor in Canada to continue with the alopurinol every day of my life EVEN DURING AN ATTACK. I am on holiday in Western Australia where I have experienced the worst attack I have ever had, while on my daily intake of the alopurinol. The doctor here in australia told me "when you experience an attack, you immediately go OFF the alopurinol. Please clarify: ON OR OFF DURING ATTACK. Perhaps you have additional advice?
