Hello. I am a woman 45 years old, and I heard that low doses of anti-depressants can reduce hot flashes in menopause. Is that true? Do you know some anti depressant that can do this?

Yes, I heard that too. I heard that with the small amount of Effexor you can sucessfuly eliminate the hot flashes in menopausal women. My mother tried it out, and it worked. It reduced hot flashes for about 50%. Why the anti depressants work this way for menopausal women, no one knows. But it does. So it is a safe way to cope with hot flashes, excluding the weight gain.
