Hi girls, I hope you’re all feeling well and taking everything as lightly as you can. I officially make 1 year off the pill today, I can’t believe it! I’m not sure if this has to due with my recovery length but my symptoms didn’t start until July so I’ve only been going through this for 8 months. I’ve come a long way but still have setbacks around my period, but nothing I can’t handle at this point. I feel my worst when I’m PMSing and during the first 3-4 days of my period. My anxiety is no longer surrounding intrusive thoughts but I’ve just been questioning everything like my love for my family and stuff when I know for a fact that I love them. I wish we all didn’t have to deal with this :( but I know that we’ll all fully improve one day, we’ll probably even forget about it eventually. I think a big part of this is coming to the forum a lot, sometimes my anxiety spikes and I come here for reassurance but I’m sure spending a lot of time looking for answers makes me worse. I’m definitely going to start going out more since the weather is getting better so I can distract myself as much as possible. I’ll continue updating soon, stay strong girls

Hi I came off nexaplonan nearly 8 weeks ago now.
About 3 weeks after it was removed I had panic attacks horrible intrusive thoughts about suicide and hurting others I feel sick to my stomach that I have turned into a psychopath.
The anxiety is so horrible it seems to be worse when my period ends.
Does it get better every month iv only Had two cycles since.
And I just cry randomly at the moment.

Hey, trust me you will get better. It gets better with every month, I was the same way when I came off the pill. It took me about 3 months to be able to eat again and sleep regularly and St. John’s Wort was what helped me overcome the horrible anxiety of those first few months. Today I’m sooo much better. I dealt with harm/sexual intrusive thoughts in the beginning and I don’t have them at all anymore. I’m just working on retraining my mind to get over the memory of them which kind of makes me feel down at some points during my cycle. Stay strong!!! Try to distract yourself as much as you can and focus on the present. This too shall pass

Thank you for your reply how many months are you off now?
I can’t believe hormones can make you feel like a different person and I always doubt it thinking it’s not hormones but this forum is a life saver I can’t thank you enough for your reply. Today I feel so low you have really helped me.
I am going to see a naturopath this week and start acupuncture. I’m so reluctant to try anything else.

No problem, I know how it feels wanting to see positive updates when you feel down so I try to put updates every now and then. I’m the last one that updated before your post about being a year off as of yesterday but about 8 months since the symptoms started. I was only on the pill that one time in my life for 6 months to treat “PCOS” which I’m not sure I actually had and I can’t believe it’s caused all of this. If anything I feel like the pill gave me PCOS. You will get better for sure, it just takes time for hormones to rebalance and for your mind to recover from this. I haven’t been to a naturopath or anything but that’s great that you are, I’ve seen a lot of girls with quicker recoveries because of naturopath treatments!

Acupuncture works wonders ! I get it before and my period starts and during. It totally calms me down. It's like an antidepressant only much better for you.

Thank you! How many times have you had it,
Has it helped re balance your hormones and helped stop the anxiety?

I've only had it 3 times, and it makes a big difference in my anxiety and my hormones seem to be a bit more stable. It's something they tell you to do consistently so I try to go at least once a week. The girl I go to also does cupping and guasha at the same time to relieve tension, and she gives me these things called ear seeds to press on that help with headaches, nausea, etc. I was not a believer in acupuncture whatsoever but it's 100% worth it. If you're having a particularly anxious day you'll leave feeling like a different person.

Does anyone else feel really emotional after ovulation? I feel more energetic and clear headed during, but now i've started crying a lot and feel really tired everyday. I'm 48 days off the pill.

I came off Microgynon three weeks ago. I’m really struggling. Intrusive and upsetting thoughts. Feeling desperate and scared and some suicidal thoughts. I suffer from anxiety anyway but exercise seemed to be helping. However, since coming off the pill, I cannot rationalise and feel desperate! Help.

Have you tried any supplements? Lavender, l-theanine and gaba work well for me. The help with anxiety, mood and sleep.

Hi, I know exactly how your feeling my symptoms started 3 weeks after I had my nexaplanon removed.
I had horrible intrusive thoughts and panick attacks, I still have all the symptoms but they are ever so slightly getting better. It’s definitely worse during times in my cycle. Make sure you start tracking your cycle to get a better understanding and keep talking to people.
I’m going to a naturopath today
I’ll let you know what she suggests :)

you going to get through this, I know it doesn't seem like it right now but its true. Time is your main key , then a few supplements , magnesium, vit c, vit b5 b6 b12, d3, omega 3 and good probiotc. limit coffee and sugar, or if you can, cut them out for at least 8 weeks. make sure you eat no matter how hard it is, it will help. rest, keep your body moving with walks or jogging or something it also helps, clean food i.e. no processed stuff for now. hot baths with Epsom salts and lavender oil before bed.... ashwaganda is a great adaptogen to help with anxiety but GABA is even better. I was exactly where you are, panic attacks that lasted for hours, anxiety so bad my body wouldn't stop shacking. suicidal hopeless , upsetting thoughts.... one foot in front of the other girl, we all here for you. be patient and keep reminding yourself it will all go away
