Hi I know you posted this post over a year ago but I've been off birth control for a little over a month and my anxiety is at an all time high.. I was just wondering how long you experienced the anxiety? I was on birth control for over ten years I'm really not looking to get back on. I am prescribed Ativan but I'm out of pills so I'm probably going to call my doctor tomorrow. Sorry for sharing I'm just feeling helpless at this point...

I'm having a blood test tomorrow. They're testing ACTH, cortisol, potassium and sodium. A lot of conventional doctors don't believe in adrenal fatigue, only a more severe form called addisons disease so it can be difficult to get your doctor to run the test. My blood pressure has been consistently very low. If you have adrenal issues you're likely to have hyper or hypotension pretty consistently.

It's different for every person. A lot of girls say after your third period things tend to get a lot better. Some girls can take six months to a year but you should see an improvement after every period. I just started my period and i've been basically panicking all day, everyday for 3 days straight. But I know in a few days when my hormones start to rise again it will get better.

2nd day of my period and I vomited twice today. Also having diarrhea.. what the heck?! Has anyone else had bad nausea or vomiting off the pill?

I haven’t vomited but there have been times on the pill and even off the pill where I’d have really awful nausea and either constipation or diarrhea. I’ve seen many other women on the forum dealing with the same issue. It subsided after about 2 months for me

Hi, I'm 6 months off and still getting diarrhea and extreme nausea. I haven't vomited but I am never really sick. But the nausea has been awful. Try Pepetobismal for it. Hormones do something to our digestive system!!

The past couple days i've been really anxious. I think my cortisol is up because i'm twitching in my sleep and waking up with panic attacks. Well since then i've had a crazy tremor in my hands, legs, head and lips. Part of it is internal shaking but i'm also shaking on the outside really bad too. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes!! These were some of my first symptoms actually. I used to wake up at like 3 am every day with the internal shaking and heart palps, and I felt so nervous I would just instantly go to the bathroom. I couldn’t even eat so I lost 20 pounds, everything made me extremely anxious, intrusive thoughts, etc. I feel like I’ve been through it all lol but I make 1 year off in 10 days and I can say that pretty much all of the symptoms have faded away. I only had the physical anxiety symptoms for like 2-3 months, then I just had to train myself with the mental effects which I’m still working on during ovulation/menstruation. Don’t worry, it eventually goes away. Also, try not to focus so much on the twitching and stuff and just distract yourself like listen to music, watch a funny movie, etc.

Yep, the tremors, twitching and waking up with panic attacks are some of the worst symptoms I have found. The internal shaking is so weird, I also had a weird restlessness and agitation, like something internal was 'building up', I wanted to crawl out of my skin, lots of weird sensations.

I'm 6 months off and finally sleeping properly, although I still get a bit anxious/restless at night time. It does last a few cycles but gets a bit easier with every month. It is really awful though I can completely relate to how distressing it is :(

Omg this makes me feel so much better. I truly feel like i'm going insane lately. I'm so dizzy, nauseous, tired, panicky, twitchy, trembly.. LOL, I love being a woman. I can't wait until this is all over.

Those were my exact symptoms!! Dizziness, nausea, fatigue, panic attacks and the trembling were the main, longest symptoms I had!! The other minor ones were numbness, tingling, neck pain, upset stomach, headaches, head pressure, feeling like I'm falling, can't take a deep breath...
You're not going insane, it's happening to us all, it's horrendous isn't it! But it gets easier and we will definitely slowly get better :) i have seen major improvements after 5 cycles and 6 months!

THANK YOU for this ! Today has been my worst day so far and I needed to hear this. Were your tremors internal or external? I'm actually shaking on the outside, even my head.. and i've also started Prozac recently so i've been really worried it's that.

When did you stop taking BC? When my symptoms started, at my worst, my whole body was shaking, I didn't sleep for days because I couldn't keep still! My legs were literally fully shaking I had to try and hold them still to relax. I had to go for slow walks outdoors to calm down, I tried meditation, anything... it was pure hell. I told myself if this didn't go away I would end my life, it was that bad! Thankfully this only lasted about a month or two. Now I only get twitches and occasional internal shaking.
I don't know much about prozac but that's probably not helping (initially) and will take a few weeks to help you, so you do have 2 things going on which your body is adjusting to! It will definitely get better once these things settle!

I've now been off for 35 days I believe. It's been really difficult. The past couple days i've been so suicidal I almost went to the ER. I can't stop crying and i'm so dizzy and anxious. I hope this all settles down soon.
