I was on the pill for almost 6 years i think. So it was a long time... that i now regret!

I jst had a bad attack a while ago while in the shower i just started feeling panicky and all went downhill. I started to shake.. dizziness came after then head pressure.

Im so tired sometimes of dealing with it.

It makes us feel so awful, I'm sorry you're still feeling with this. I have these dizzy spells too and they're awful. It's so unfair nothing helps. Look after yourself and remember these bad spells don't last forever and you will get better, it's just very slow! It takes so long to reverse 6 years of damage.

Wow I’m really sorry. I used to have panic attacks in the places I was always most secure too, like the shower. But I have faith you’ll get better 100% in due time. I wasn’t even on the pill for a full year so I can’t even imagine what having these symptoms for so long would be like :( don’t give up!!!

I feel the same way. I have been off the pill since October 2017. I got pregnant January 2018 and now have a baby. I really didn’t want to go back on birth control in any form for fear I would experience the same horrible effects. I’m trying the mini pill (only one safe while breastfeeding). I’ve only been taking it for a week and I feel ok so far. If I feel at all anxious or depressed I’m discontinuing it. I just really don’t want to get pregnant at this point in my life and my babe is only 4 months old. But I totally get the fear of passing out. My anxiety was so bad at one time that I would pass out. I try to distract myself by thinking of other things it even looking at my surroundings and thinking of colors, numbers, etc. distraction is key. It’s so hard sometimes though. My anxiety is good for the longest time and then I have a spell where it’s bad again. We all just have to hang in there and know everything will get back to normal eventually. :)

Congrats on the baby!! You’re so right about the distractions, I’m 10 months off the pill and have been feeling a bit off these past few days for the first time in about 2-3 months. Today I felt really anxious for no reason but I’ve been distracting myself and it helps so much. but I know we can get through this!!

Hi ladies, I posted yesterday about being 10 months off and feeling anxious for the first time in a few months this past week. Well today I got my period for the first time since October!! Now I know why I’ve been feeling odd and having anxious thoughts again. (Luckily not the terrible intrusive thoughts I had in the first several months off the pill) However, as much as I convince myself that this is all hormonal, I keep having thoughts like what if it isn’t and what if I’ve been like this all along. I hate feeling like this :( but I refuse to let it get me down, I’ve felt great since October so I think I just need to focus on the good instead of this little setback.

Hi girls, just wondering how everyone is getting on?

Hi! I’m about to be 11 months off in a little less than 2 weeks and so far I’ve been feeling great. I actually posted 11 days ago about how horrible I felt during my period and I truly thought I was having a setback, but I felt better a few days in. I’m feeling more normal again so I think it’s just during my period when my hormones are fluctuating that I have intrusive thoughts, racing thoughts, etc. Hope you’re doing well!!

That's great news!! 11 months is so long and glad you're finally having consistent good days! 1 year seems to be how long it takes to go back to normal.
I am struggling with vertigo and insomnia- my intrusive thoughts only happen at night time when I'm trying to sleep. My vision is weird but I'm getting glasses next week so hopefully they will help. Overall much better than 4 months ago, but still a long way to go!

Thank you!! Yeah I think most women take 1-1.5 years and although it seems so long in the moment, time goes by pretty fast. Omg I can relate, my insomnia was HORRIBLE when I was in my first few months off. I would sleep so inconsistently it was awful. I feel like my vision also got worse through all this! I already wear glasses so I don’t know if it was actually from the pill or just a coincidence. Feel better!!

Does anyone else have awful tinnitus? I'm genuinely concerned for how bad it is.

Hi- i have tinnitus so bad!!! How many months off are you? Mine first started after about 2 cycles. It's worse during PMS. I used to be able to hear it over the TV, so I stopped listening to headphones for a while.
Now I'm on my 4th cycle and 6 months off. It has gotten a LOT better. I can hear it at night but never notice it during the day. But it does get bad around the end of my cycle.
Also some medications like aspirin and propanolol can cause tinnitus.
Do you have dizziness too?

I’m about a year and 4 months off and my tinnitus is FINALLY fading away. It started maybe month 6 and has lasted this whole time. Def gets worse near periods and during. So far the main thing I’m suffering from is heart palpitations that are rlly scary. Can go up to 165 etc. seems to correlate with what i eat as i have developed new food sensitivities during this process. I was prescribed beta blockers after a complete heart work up and learning my heart is fine. They don’t know why i get these heart palps but I’ve been using the meds to help me sleep without it beating out my chest! Stay strong it does get better and each person is different. I was on birth control 10 plus years so I’m sure my case is more severe.

Yeah I did learn that beta blockers can cause tinnitus so maybe it will improve some more once you come off them. But my tinnitus started before I was taking them so it's definitely hormones!!
It's so scary it has affected your heart like that. I had a similar thing when I was eating badly at christmas, my heart felt like I had just ran a marathon. It's horrible. But it was definitely food related. Reasurring that your heart is healthy and the palps are harmless!
I've also had stomach issues so I think it can cause food intolerances. It seems to affect almost every part of our bodies :(
It's always so helpful for me to hear how others are doing!!!
