At the expo for Chicago, we donated some books to a program called Rock for Reading. Everyone who contributed a book was entered in a drawing. LC and I each donated, and we put in books for JUJR and Jacked.

Today in the mail came a package - I won a prize! A Barista 8-cup coffee press. Coffee drinkers that we are, it's perfect. But how the heck does it work?

Those of you who want to say "Read the directions that came with it" can lower your hands, TYVM.

Any difference in how the coffee tastes? For what it's worth, I've got an espresso machine and I know how to use it - will that help?

So then, next year you will be pressing our coffee?

i have a french press coffee machine so maybe it's the same thing.

put grounds in the bottom of the carafe thingy
pour boiling water in on top of the grounds
let the coffee and the water steep together for a few minutes
push the plunger thingy down to compress all the grounds to the bottom, straining the water and leaving some hot strong kickazz coffee for ya.

i don't use it much 8O one cup'll get ya thru next tuesday 8O

Yes. Hot water in the receptacle. Grounds at the top in the little basket thingie. Then you push the grounds through the hot water to the bottom.

It's either that or exactly the opposite, but I think it's that.

I bought one for Ian's step mom for mother's day.

I make my coffee in a coffee press every day. And it works as described. Throw the grounds in, add water, after a few minutes press the grounds to the bottom.
It is delicious, murky goodness.
