Hi, I have had similar situation and successful discetomy when 14 weeks pregnant. Can I ask how did your labour and delivery go with your baby? Did you have a normal delivery or planned ceasarian section? I am now currently 28 weeks pregnant and neither my surgeon or my obs doctor will make a call whether to allow me to have a c-section to prevent further disc damage or to allow me to deliver naturall. Also, did you have an epidural?

I had a terribly long delivery- 35 hours and 5 hours pushing. My back started to hurt third trimester and then had surgery 7 months after birth. One year post surgery, I am pregnant again. Pain has returned and Im doing pt twice a week. I also get pregnancy massages- which helps. Walking is getting more difficult- I went from 2 miles a down, now down to 1. I am having a c section to prevent further strain during labor....I feel your pain... Wish I could say it gets better... For me it got worse... But the babies are worth it.

I'm suffering from my L5-S1, and can't find anyone to operate on me, because I'm pregnant. I can't walk, stand, sit, or lay down. I'm lost. I'm tired of hurting. Someone, please tell me where I can go.

I actually got through it by steroid injections administered without the fluoroscope, taking an mbsr meditation class, hypno birthing and swimming to maintain strength. My son in now 20 months old and my injury is back :-( However I was able to deliver just fine with no complications.

I can't thank you enough for this. I'm 11 weeks and came in hospital with what I thought was bone pain from the flu I had. They treated an infection and now 2 days later I've this minute been put nil by mouth as its stenosis and it's crushing my chord. They couldn't talk to me about baby as it was 'above my grade' so someone is coming at 6am to do that and surgery after. I needed to see someone say it worked! I'm so grateful xxxx

Hi all. Can any of you get into how you're doing now? My wife is 19 weeks pregnant, and we believe she has an L5/S1 herniated disc (based on symptoms and a physical therapist opinion). All the doctors/back specialist/physical therapist have all just said "take Tylenol and rest." No one to confirm it is a herniated disc (They don't want to do an MRI because she's pregnant), and no real treatment options given. She's been progressively getting worse since Week 7. I hate seeing her in so much pain, but not sure what to do. We've tried stretches daily, physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractor (though maybe we should try that again). Nothing has been helping.

Their are no doctors around here that will see me because of me being pregnant. I was hoping someone could refer me to someone, it doesn't matter where.

Hello! Just wondering how your wife managed to get through her pregnancy with the pain? I’m in the same situation at 10 weeks pregnant & will need surgery in the second trimester as I can’t imagine how painful it might be as I progress. It’s debilitating! Hope she got through ok!

Can you become severely symptomatic without worsening descension? I had a baby last year, and through all the pushing - I ended up in surgery, but my descension was the same, despite ALL the symptoms.
