I have been diagnosed as having bacteria in my urine. How does a person
contract this? I have not had sex in a year and a half..... could I have gotten
it off a new kitten I was given last month? It constantly wants to play rough and tends to bite and scratch to the point of bleeding.
My doctor has been treating it for the last 2 weeks but I am still not at 100%.
I feel tired all the time and I ache and dizziness sets in.

Hi there,

There is a chance that you have gotten your bacteria from a scratch, but most likely that your blood would be compromised first rather then your blood. If you suspect that this might happen you should test you blood first and of course the urine as well. I think that you could treat this with antibiotics easily if there are no further complications. What did your doctor say about the bacteria and treatment? You have to know that you kitten has too see a veterinary just to check if it doesn’t have any sickness as well. You should try to treat the bacterial infection to avoid any further complications. I hope this helped a bit.

All the best,

Danella
