@Guest #the one talking about swirly shadows Thats‛s called paranormal activity, if your eyed are fine and the shadows have any kind of pattern. Call the real life equivalent of ghostbusters. Or check your brain.

I‛m 12 and i get black dots. I play video games, about 2-4 hours per day. My friend says I have retina deterioration, but my parents think it's nothing and won't even take me to the optometrist. I also bent my skull in a grade 1 accident, (How is my grammar still so good) and have suffered severe depression.
The guy talking about the black tube coming towards you, as Guest 1588 said, that's paranormal activity. Observe it's actions clearly and tell me what it's doing. What did you do when it bolted into the roof? Staring? Reaching?

Some kinds of paranormal activity can be dangerous. Oh no, that brings back my 7 year old memory.

I've had very small floaters when I was younger at around 14 or so but now(I'm 18) I've developed full shadows residing in my right eye covering about 15-20% of my sight vision. It's... hard to live with yes but I've learned to deal with it. Sports are kind of hard now, my hand eye coordinate for volleyball and basketball are not as they used to. When I drive I can see ok but sometimes I cover my right eye with a cloth or gauze as a percaution if its too light or too dark. I guess all I'm saying is that despite all this It's not setting me back that much. As others have pointed out, they sometimes get it during allergy season? Well yeah mine started full bloom just these past few weeks when my allergies shot up. I'm fine right now, but 10 years into the future if this persists I wonder if I'll be too frustrated to cope with it. I guess I'm looking for tips to help cope with this or make it go away?

Information that may help:

Allergies have shot up recently.

Haven't been eating well sometimes just once or twice a day.

Been sleeping at 4 am many, many nights and I don't wake until 2 in the afternoon.

Many days I would sit in front of the computer for 10 hours.

I'm going to be switching out of this sort of cycle as school comes around and I'll keep track of my vision to see if there are any changes.  I wish everyone else here the best of luck that their vision will someday go back to normal.

Hi everyone,

I just got back from the natropath/homeopath and she told me the black spots are from too much sugar and bacteria in the blood. I went to the eye specialist they said its just tired eyes...I am on an eating program also taking healthy alternative medication..will get back to you if this works:-)

I have never taken any drugs, lived a clean life, exercise bla, bla bla, and I still have tons of floaters. If I look up at the sky, all I see are these annoying smudges and black spots. This started in my 30's. So don't beat yourself up. It's probably genetic or something.

Being a mystic myself, spiritual by nature, I would describe what you're seeing as salamandars, they are are form of ancient earth energy. Myself and my children have been seeing them for years. They do not have consciousness so cannot harm you in any way. Simply enjoy the view and the knowledge that a deep part of you has now awakened to the true nature of the world around you. You can find out more by looking into hermetic websites on the topic. Good luck :-)

many of those who replied believe there is nothing that can be done to floaters. well i disagree. doctors can operate the eye and change the liquid inside and replace with water and salt> but this procedure is only done when floaters become an obstacle to good vision.  untill then there is no need to worry about them.

Some bacteria can manifest and grow in the eye cavity. Depending on what type a common treatment is a dose of antibiotics. Either way you should see an optomitrist as soon as you are able.

You have an eye problem. Please see your GP to refer you to an eye specialist, An ophthalmologist deals with all eye issues. They are so specialised (total of 14 years of studying to specialise) that they can help with most sight problems. Problems left unchecked will lead to further complications.

I am a 49 yr old male. Last night when trying to fall asleep, when I opened my eyes, I had a dark bar or shadow in the center of both eyes vertically . like someone had held a pen , or their pinky finger in front of each eye. this only lasted about 5 seconds, the my vision was clear.but when i closed my eyes again, as soon as I opened them, the bars were back, and cleared again in a few seconds. this went on for about 15 minutes, then I could not get it to happen again. These were not floaters, but fixed dark bars blocking my vision. very scary. anyone ever experience this before ?

Were you looking at your phone or another bright LED-type light before bed? I realized the same problem, and then noticed it was in the same shape as my cellphone screen, and I did not see the dark rectangle if I didn't look at my phone for 20 minutes or so before bed.
