I've been bleeding since August 14th, before that I had not had a period since March. I went to 1 doctor and she told me it was my period catching up, the 2nd doctor said it was PCOS and prescribed me Yasmin to stop the bleeding but after 2 weeks it's only gotten worse, and I went the ER last week because not only was I passing very large blood clots but there was a mass surrounded by clots and EXTREMELY heavy bleeding. They said it was mennorhagia, or possibly "products of conception" that had been in there for a while. After waiting 8 hours for that diagnosis I left with just a piece of paper and nothing else.

I'm going to the doctors tomorrow and I have military insurance that has NOT been helpful. I go through a pad every other hour and thankfully I do not have anemia, but I don't know what's going on. I pass 10 - 20 blood clots a day, very large ones the diameter of a quarter and thickness of a marble. I'm really at the end of my rope because I've had to stop working because I leak through my clothes, I feel so sick, dizzy, lightheaded, and embarrassed. I tell my husband death would be better than living like this and it's true. I don't know what to do and because military health care SUCKS I get subpar treatment and they will not help me!! The first doctor told me the bleeding would stop and that it was all in my head and to not worry about it, but it didn't stop and it's been going on almost 4months now. Has anyone had this?

I don't know what could be the problem, but it sounds very scary. Do you have a planned parenthood near you? It's possible they would be of better help than your military health plan seems to have been...

I went for several years without a period and now I have been bleeding for over 2 YEARS straight without end. I will pass clots that are baseball size several times a week plus the marble and pea sized clots daily. I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2000 and went through the standard meds and treatments for it for over a year and nothing changed. I also had the military insurance (TRICARE) and no one seemed worried that my body was not acting like it was supposed to and I was not taken seriously. In 2005 when I started the bleeding cycle I am currently on, I could not get an appointment with a specialist because everytime I got a referral, there were no appointments available in the time period that the referral was good for. I had to keep going back to my primary care doctor every 3 months to get another pap that would show abnormal to get another referral that would expire before an appointment was available. Now my husband is out of the military (for the past year) and I do not have medical insurance anymore. Be aggressive in seeking treatment. Do not see a military doctor!!! Get a referral to a civilian specialist and get your body working right!
