After few months of severe symptoms, that were telling there was something wrong, I visited gynecologist. He diagnosed me with borderline cyst. That scared me so much, because one friend of mine told me it could be cancer. I would like to hear if anyone had the same symptom and the same borderline cyst of ovaries. I would appreciate any info if I should be worried or wait to see what my gynecologist would say or do about this.

I had the same problem with a very large ovarian cyst, and my doctor said that it was borderline cancer. Off course, he performed me a surgery and take my ovaries out, that is why I am sure he diagnosed me right way. Now I will have to be checked every 3-6 months with some tests to keep this problem under control. During this time, I started to research about my problem so I found some interesting facts. I have read that patients with low malignant potential tumor, such as borderline cancer is, who desiring fertility should have fertility sparing surgery and comprehensive staging at surgery. This disease could be in stage one, or non-invasive, observation is appropriate. Once childbearing is complete, some suggest completing the surgery for borderline cysts. However, there is not complete agreement on this, so I do not know what to think. In any case, appointments should be every few months with a CA125 testing at every visit to keep doctor involved in developing of this borderline cyst. Each person is considered individually as well, but the most important thing is to make sure the pathology of borderline cyst is correct.
