I am experiencing very similar, had two teeth removed over a month ago as I believed pain was associated with loose and dodgy teeth. Pain is still there 24/7 along with crackling noise behind my left eye and up my nose, around my ear and sometimes in my throat. Have also had sinus infections, it's driving me mad!! I'll be visiting my doctor for an MRI or something to see what's going on. Gave up smoking about a year and a half ago :-)

Have anyone suggested getting your thyroid checked? I am on medication my thyroid after getting radioactive iodine treatment. I switch constantly between hypo and hyperthyroid due to my treatment. I have recently noticed crackling in my head. I had my TSH checked and found I was hypo after being hyper for a few months. The thyroid is involved with a lot of the body's functions. Anxiety and depression are symptoms of hypothyroidism. Headaches, hair loss, dry brittle hair, eyebrow shedding(outer edges). Look up symptoms of hypo and/or hyperthyroidism. Graves' disease.

Hi, i’m turning 17 next year. I was out running with my cousin when i felt this weird crackling at the back of my brain. I don’t know how to describe it. My family thinks i’m crazy. You know that chocolate that you get that crackles and pops in your mouth? Well it almost feels like that. It’s very creepy. Anyways, that was the first time i really noticed ot, it went on for quite a while, but then i just focused on jogging and i just kind of forgot about the crackling. But if you guys are all fine, then i suppose its nothing to worry about :D

I too experience this sensation and it seems to happen most frequently when i am over tired, but can also occur when just getting up or sometimes randomly throughout the day. I have had my concerns about it before and have never been able to quite describe the feeling so I was very glad to hear i am not the only one feeling the "pop rocks" type sensation at where about i would say my brain stem is. I am inclined to believe it isn't anything major after doing small preliminary research and also hearing everyones testimonies. Thanks all for sharing, it feels cool to be part of this strange club xD

Hey, Im a male, 26 years old. I've had the crackling for a while now. I struggle with alcohol addiction and I was diagnosed with ADHD at age of 19. For me the cracking happens when I don't exercise and I am thinking too much. Also I practise meditation so whoever said that having 'an empty mind' creates the crackling is right as it brings up issues for me. I don't know about punctures as I've had an MRI which came out healthy. I also struggle with anxiety and depression. I don't know what's wrong with me.

Most Ben a minor concussion, that makes it harder to concentrate. So try to relax and repeat from any stress.
