There are a few reasons that could make your nipples to be sore, and one of them is surely the pregnancy. Sometimes you can feel only one of them hurting, and sometimes it’s both of them that are sore and painful. If you suspect that you are pregnant, you can always check it out by doing a home pregnancy test, if it is the right time for that.
Furthermore, sore nipples could also indicate a breast cancer which I hope is not the case with you. If the area around your nipples are swollen and red, or if you notice a lump near the breast, you immediately go see your doctor.
In my case, I have sore nipples when I am about to get my period, they become pretty sensitive, as well as the whole breast.
When I was pregnant it happened to me that I got some fungal infection which really took time to get rid of, my nipples hurt like hell and were very much red.
Whatever it is, I suggest to react immediately and if necessary, to start the treatment the sooner the better.
