I hope someone can help..i have been to see and ENT (ear nose and throat doctor) and he seems o think its nothing but it keeps reoccuring and its bothering me..ok let me describe the bump the best way i can without a picture..its a small bump or more like a raised tastebud that appears out of the blue about every other month...it is right in the center of my tongue and seems to appear after smoking cigars or weed for several days straight..im not one to smoke every day but every now and again i do indulge as a stress reliever...i thought it was definitely coming from smoking until i did not smoke for 3-4 months straight and during that time the bump still appeared..like i said the bump is almost like a irritating taste bud but it comes in the same spot(the center of my tongue) and when it is present it is very annoying and painful. after 3 or 4 days it goes away only to return again eventually...this started within the past two years and i have never had this problem before and i have been smoking for almost 15 years now.
has anyone ever experienced this. should i be alarmed? do u think it could be cancerous?

I have a reoccurring bump that shows up on the left side of my tongue. It doesn't however, hurt. I have been smoking cigarettes for 5 yrs. Its just freaking annoying, I really wish I knew what it was, but you're not alone.
