Caregiver burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion. It may be accompanied by a change in attitude, from positive and caring to negative and unconcerned. Burnout can occur when caregivers don't get the help they need, or if they try to do more than they are able, so they may experience fatigue, stress, anxiety, and depression. Going along with the previous post. Some caregiver "work" should be changed every three years as burnout in common. As well, a caregiver should have a support mechanism available called debriefing with fellow service providers. This assists as an outlet.
