I'm glad I'm not alone too.. I turned 31 close to a month after my partial hysterectomy this year. I haven't been the same since surgery. I have phantom pains, extreme mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats, and my immune system is shot since surgery. In the last month and a half I've had about 6 different stomach viruses, bronchitis, sinus infections and general discomfort. I have three kids from age 4 - 12 and stay on the go.

My husband hasn't been acting the same since surgery and we fight a lot. I've realized I get very angry and defensive over trivial things and I've started to wonder what he does in his free time that keeps him in such a good mood when all I feel all the time is sadness and anger.

I would check your thyroid levels. Find a doctor that asks for a complete lab level test and is clear about the issues low thyroid out put can produce. Read about unbalanced thyroid levels and see if the symptoms sound familiar.

I've seen commercials on tv recently about the mesh sling and all the side effects and issues caused by it. You may want to talk to your doctor or google it. The commercials are from an attorney. The side effects of the sling may shed some light on some of your symptoms.

I had a partial hysterectomy over a year ago and have not been the same since. The reason I had to get one at 23 is bc after I had my daughter (a scheduled c-section that went totally wrong) I had several surgeries after to try to fix my uterus that refused to heal. It's a lot longer of a story but ill save u from the horrible details. 3 months of being separated from my new born daughter was the worst. I had been bleeding for over 3 months and a hole in my uterus I was beyond done. Scheduled a partial hysterectomy. Over a yr later I am so hormonal and even lactating and having hot flashes ect. So I feel post partum/menopause at the same time. I have no insurance and no one will see me bc of my age/situation. I just want to be myself.

It is not the end of the world! I had feelings like yours, but they will just make you more unhappy. Yoga helped me a lot, you start to learn how to control your emotions and it will calm you down. I also hear very little, but there are worse things in life. Don't be depressed, get out and walk, paint, learn a new language....any new thing you do will help your mood.
Good luck.

Hi guys!  I feel ALL your pain!  I'm a 36 year old woman who had to have an emergency partial hysterectomy when I had my second child 11 years ago.  At first, I felt no symptoms and then BAM!  They all started hitting me at once.  I was still in denial that it could be due to my partial hysterectomy as I thought that as long as you kept your ovaries you would not have hormonal issues.  And then one day my husband asked me "what happened to your sx drive? and How come you are always nagging?" and it hit me!  I no longer had a sex drive and I hated everyone!!  And so i went to my gyno and my regular doctor but they both kept telling me (year after year) that all my hormones were good...my thyroid was good...all my blood work was good.  I was always so upset, depressed and frustrated that they couldnt find anything with me when I KNEW there was something wrong since I felt like c**p! And so i started trying natural herbs...exercising, eating better...but to no avail.  Nothing worked.  I kept suffering from vaginal dryness, lack of sx drive, hating everyone and everything including myself, etc., etc., etc.  The last few months have been even worse!  Adding all the other symptoms PLUS I am exhausted all the time....exercise makes it worse...I've gained weight even though I eat pretty well (I allow myself one cheat day) (i weigh 125 lbs but usually weigh 115 lbs); I am hardly sleeping, depressed, feel unattractive, body aches and pains every single day, headaches every day, sinus pressure, carpal tunnel like pain, bloated, gas, IBS, lack of energy, double vision, heart palpitations, trouble breathing with mild exertion, etc., etc., etc.  I am just MISREABLE!!!  However, recently, a co-worker of mine suggested I read up on thyroid issues and through a website  I found an intergrative doctor.  I just had my first visit with him this week and he sent me for a bunch of tests including about 15-20 blood exams, stool test, saliva test, ultrasounds of the heart, head, arms and thyroid, allergy test, nerve test of the head, arms, etc.  And i was FINALLY diagnosed with something.  I've never been so happy to hear that I was actually sick.  I told the doctor that if he found me in good shape, my next stop was going to be a psychiatrist.  He stared laughing and told me that I was not loca...I indeed had issues.  He diagnosed me with low progesterone, adrenal fatigue, low thyroid and Candida.  He has put me (for now) on bioidential progesterone and nystatin.  He told me it would take months of working with him to fix me up but we would do it as naturally as possible.  A lot of people believe that because the ovaries are still in tact, we should not suffer from low hormones but the fact is that b/c there is no uterus the blood flow is therefore limited and eventually the ovaries will stop working altogether.  Everyone here, trust me!  There is HELP.  You just have to look for a doctor that believes in intergrative and holistic medicine.  Please keep your fingers crossed for me.  I've started down a new path and although it might be a long one, for the sake of my mental health and (for my family), lets hope its worth it.  If anyone has questions, feel free to email me at .  Hope everyone gets better soon!!

I had a hysterectomy, I just kept the cervix, they removed the uterus and ovaries. I don't feel any difference. At the beginning I was expecting that I will feel changes, but thanks God, I did not. I think it is a lot psychological, and normally, I am not a depressive person, and try to think positively about thinks. I don't take hormones as I am scared of it for the possibility of developing breast cancer, what is also good, I am not having hot flashes. I am still the same as I was before, and my husband doesn't feel any difference neither; so don't worry, keep your spirit up!
