Can anyone recommend some? What do you like in them? What don't you like about them?

How much do you want to spend? These are about $190 thru Cabelas. I'm on my second pair of a boot that was the previous model. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Can't REALLY recommend hiking boots, since I don't hike.
But I LOVE my timberland work boots. They are extremely comfortable, and I walk an awful lot at work. I would look into their hiking boot line first, if I were looking.

EMS has a good selection.
I tend to like the EMS brand all leather boots made on a swiss last, however there is a few good offerings from Solomon and Vasque.
The Vasque Sundowners have been a comfortable and long lasting model for years.
Make sure you know what you need. Hiking shoes or back packing boots?
What kind of trail do you intened to hike on?
PM me with specific questions. I'm the freaking "help desk" for backpacking gear...
