Hello, my friends. My brother in law has been diagnosed with cockroach allergy. When he gets in touch with these insects, he develops severe breathing problems, something like asthma. I am wondering if this kind of allergy can cause the asthma. Does anyone know to answer me this? Thanks in advance.

Hi, there. Symptoms of cockroach allergy may vary. Some people report only skin rash. Other people report asthmatic attacks. Usually, people already have asthma when develop cockroach allergy. Asthma attacks are only a part of their previous disease. However, this allergy can give asthmatic attacks. Your brother should talk to his doctor about treating these attacks. I hope he will feel better. Good luck!
