I started to get discharde from my urethra and irritation on urination, so went to my locl clinic and was diagnosed with gonorrhoea. I was treated with antibiotics and all is well. The problem is that my partnet of 2.5 years also went and wa found to be clear of infection. I have not slept with anyone other than him for over 3 years, and have never cheated in any way shape of form. He is know wondering why i have got this infection and whether i cheated on him. I cant seem to find any evidence to show that you cna get this infection through routes other than sex, or that i could have had the infection asymptomatically since before i was seeing him. Can anyone offer my any information with regards to this problem. Thanks, Jamie

I am lost here too. I was not aware that you can contract gonorrhea in a way other than sexual but then I read that you could get it from coming into a contact with recently contaminated objects like a damp towel.
I just can't figure out how come your partner never contracted it from you. It is said that a man is 20% likely to contract the bacteria from one intercourse with an infected person.
