I have a question. I don't want to be judged but I had an ex who took crack cocaine, had a drink problem(15 cans of cider a day)and smoked cigarettes. He also had to take 90 mls a day methadone. It beats me how he is still alive but his doctor has said he could die any moment.He's been doing this for about 7/8 years now.
Does anyone have any advice on how long he will live doing this, because his body is in a right state.(he has insomnia aswell).He seems indestructable on the outside,carrying on as usual, but I can't see the inside.

Sorry, I saw your questions but I do not have an answer since I am not familier with these products. But it sounds like its not a good idea if the doctor is telling his that he will not live. I would think that the doctor who told you this has the education and can diagnos him based on the statistics. Thanks I hope you find the answer you are looking for.

ts a fact that both these drugs have diffrent and opposing side effects. its allso a fact that nodoze and simple over the counter sleeping tablets together can cause serios helth issues if not put you in a comma. I know this from experence and your partner is not well at all. if he wants no help you will be luckey to get him to do anything about it. my guess is he will most probably die withing the next ten years if not sooner. he also will not see things quite as you do and its because of his addictions he is not the person he appears to be and i feel both you and your partner are in danger. please seek some help. if i didint care i would not have botherd regerstering just to answer this!!

i started to read this and i think your husband will be fine. im not no doctor though so i dont really no what kind of problems he has on the inside when he started to taking methodone. im a in the methodone maintenace program right now and im taking 80 mg a day. i also smoke crack cocaine sometimes and the effects are out of this world. i can see why he does it. its becasue the increase in a rush from cocaine is far more effective when taken with methodone. i done really no much about drinking while taking methodone but what i do no, is that they are both a downer and the alchohal with the methodone is gonna be the thing that will kill someone casue you shouldnt take too downers at the same time especially methodone. its a very potent drug by itsself and should not be taking will any opiods or downers such as alcohal. you can go into a comma when doing. i would deffinatly stop drinking to save my own life and im pretty sure any doctor will say that if your taking methodone and smokin crack
