hey I have dark spots on my penis too, I'm 18 aswell. the spots aren't raised nor do they hurt, I've been concerned with it but the chances of being cancer are minimum. i googled this problem many times and seems like a lot of teens have this problem, it's just common discoloration, penile cancer happens in old men who don't wash their penises and their symptoms are open sores most of the time. don't kill yourself bro it's not something to worry too much about but I'd go see a dermatologist sometime. I will eventually too. good luck

Hope you got a response to this problem. If pigmentation like that could be any kind of cancer, it would be melanoma, but if you've had it for 4+ years now and it was melanoma, you'd be dead already. the fact that you are alive and well after 4+ years either means you don't have melanoma or you do and you have survived longer and symptom-free than any other person on the planet.

Feel better?

Also consider that in the past 150 years or so there have only been about 120 reports of penile melanoma worldwide among the hundreds of millions of men who have access to medical care. It's a very rare problem.

I have the same thing.. except mine is a much larger area than yours. The whole underside of my penis is like that.. only really dark. I've just always assumed it was a birthmark or something. I don't think its anything to worry about. I noticed it I guess when I was about 10 or so.. but I'm 22 now and I've never had any problems.

I agree with Medic_Dan – this does not look anything like penis cancer. Most penises have some variation in color, so you are probably just looking at normal penis skin. Your  best bet is to see a good dermatologist to put your mind at ease. In the meantime, you might consider a penis vitamin cream (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil) to help keep the skin smooth, supple, and healthy, as well as reducing the risk for minor skin infections and irritation.

Pigmentation is normal. I have it and so do plenty of others - it's just not as common as skin without pigmentation (but still generally common). How much pigmentation varies from one person to the next - in most people with pigmentation it starts as a brown line running down the shaft and sometimes increases in surface area (but does stop and generally stays on the underside of your penis). (all skin is pigmented - so when I say pigmentation, I'm referring to the brown skin you're worried about). Spots are usually Fordyce spots and pearly penile papules - again, perfectly normal. Google both and see if they match the appearance of yours. I know papules can look unsightly - some people have more than others, and I know you probably worry that a partner may see and think they're an STI (which they aren't) so if they bother you that much, see your GP - papules can be removed if they're bothering you. My GP refused to help so I went to a private doctor who did it for me. The procedure was quick and hurt like hell but I was happy with the results. But my advice - see your GP if you have any concerns and if you're still not happy, get a second opinion. They really have seen it all before. Don't worry - enjoy your youth.
