Hello, there. My friend has a kid who has been experiencing a speech loss. We really don’t know what caused this. I would like to know if this could be the result of the inflammatory encephalitis. I hope someone will know to answer me. Thank you in advance for replying. Bye!

Hi to you too. I wouldn’t say it is encephalitis. Speech loss is not so characteristic. Encephalitis has some other specific symptoms. Some of them are: neck stiffness, headache, fever, confusion, sore throat, irritability, etc. Your friend should take his kid to the doctor. One of the options could be Landau-Kleffner syndrome. It is a childhood disorder with unknown cause. I hope everything will be all right. Good luck!
