Hi, folks. My favorite nephew has been diagnosed with middle ear tumor. I am very surprised to hear this, no one expected this. I would really like to know what kind of treatment we can expect here. I would like to know more about chemo therapy and its effectiveness for such a type of tumor.

Hi, there. It doesn’t have to mean that your nephew has cancer. Tumor can also be benign. In this case no chemotherapy will be necessary. Cholesteatoma is one of the most common benign tumors of the middle ear. Antibiotics and eardrops are usually used here. Surgery is used to remove cysts. If there is a cancer, surgery is again a treatment option. If it is in advanced stage, radiotherapy will be needed as well. However, I am not sure that chemotherapy can be used here. You should consult an expert.
