I work in a nursery an a child has chlymidia of the eye how has this happened? can it be spread to other parts of the body and passed on through touch?

What I want to know is if chlamydia is exposed to your eye does it mean you are infected with chlamydia again? I got treated twice because I wanted to put the K'O' on the disease.. but now my eye is red and irritated so what do I do now?
