colposcopy and then tissue-like discharge

This definitely happened to me as well. After my colpo I immediately felt extremely plugged up and allowed a large piece of monsel’s come out 30 minutes after the procedure. I had coffee grind discharge for day 1-4 and didn’t pass the skin like looking thing until day 5!

What they tell us feels like such a lie!! They say it’s painless. It’s Not. It Hurts!! They say you’ll experience a little cramping, light bleeding, & some slight discharge but it shouldn’t hinder any activities & you can resume normal activities the same day. Wrong. I think it depends on how much & What they do. My first one wasn’t nearly as bad as I feared. It did hurt a little but not much. I cramped for 3 straight days & needed my Tyl 3 meant for my migraines so that I could even Sleep at night tho! It took about 4-5 days to feel better & a week to feel normal. I just had my second one on Monday & it was a lot worse. I bled a Ton, so much that I couldn’t even put my underwear back on without dropping on the floor! I got lightheaded cleaning it up & passed a Huhe clot right in front of the Dr who said nothing. They told me to call if I soak a pad in an hour & let them know if I experience any blood clots. The tiny panty liner was a joke. On my way out to my car I had severe cramping & I bled through that tiny pad, through my underwear, & to my jeans!! I passed clots all day but decided to wait till the next day to tell them. I was really grossed out by the Monseld solution & figures it wasn’t working anyway w as much as I was bleeding so I went ahead & took a bath. They gave me no instructions on this so I just cleaned out my tub good & put Epsom salt in it & enjoyed a good soak. I had blood on my legs & all over my lady bits anyway so no way was I not washing that up! Plus I hoped it would help the bleeding slow down & the cramping. I felt better during the soak but bleeding & cramping resumed once I got out. I did rinse with a squirt bottle, purified water, & 9 drops of iodine as instructed after I had had my son so figured it was safe now & a good way to ward off any infection. That night I put on a regular heavy pad for a period & o bled through that sucker, through my underwear & PJs & onto my bed!!! I couldn’t believe it & was fairly upset for th not warning me I was going to bleed that heavy plus my gosh a big pad wasn’t even enough!! I called them & told my Dr about the clots, my pain, & the bleeding through the pad. She acted like I was overreacting to call & said tamale Motrin & the rest is normal. I was not happy so I turned to the internet. I feel like the Dr’s are always lying & real people willing to talk about it is the only place we hear the truth!!
That night was so painful I was awake all night long. I called again the next day & Thankfully a different Dr talked to me & was more sympathetic. She said to alternate 3 Motrin & 2 extra strength Tylenol every 3 hours....so to be clear for you all, take 3 Motrin, wait 3 hours, take 2 extra strength Tylenol, wait 3 hours & repeat but do not exceed more than 12 Motrin per 24 hrs or ? Tylenol - this can shut down organs so take it seriously.

It’s been almost a week now & the cramping is mostly gone. I’m still aching almost constantly tho & am still feeling sore. It feels like a big scab is in there that pulls & hurts if I walk up stairs or move wrong. The Monsel’s solution is still coming out a little at a time but I haven’t had any come out in my underwear, only in the bathtub. I’m soaking every single night with Epsom salt & riinsing with the iodine water mix. I’m very tired still & when I do too much it aches a lot. The bleeding stopped around day 4 for me. I hope you all have better experiences!! This last one will have me much more scared the next time!

I had a colposcopy with biopsy done two years ago and nothing like this, so when I had one done a few days ago and then just today found this palm sized flap of grossness on the toilet paper after using the bathroom I was panicked!! My doctor didn’t mention this at all. I studied it and even took a picture (don’t worry I won’t share!) in case I needed to show the doctor later. It did look like part of a condom or even like a big flap of skin with some clumpy black parts attached to it. Yechhhh ! So reassured to hear this happened to all you other ladies. They really should warn us about this!!

Looks like they’re still not warning us about this! I had the cone biopsy 6 days ago and have had almost no bleeding, till today when I had to pee and the blob emerged. Shocked and grossed out, to say the least, I called my doctor who let me know it was normal as if she was telling me the weather outside. How can they not think this is an important recovery fact!?

I had a d&c done Wednesday and am having the same coffee grounds tissue thing. They said its from a solution they used. I'm wondering why they did this for a d&c... so far no bleeding or cramping and I know its only a metter of time before the large thing comes out. I'm glad I found this thread so at least I know what to expect!

I had the same thing happen and the doctor said it was the lining of my uterus coming out all at once. he said not to worry. I’ve looked it up and it’s called a decidual cast, apparently its common.

I just had a colposcopy and biopsy. Two days later I had flesh like tissue thing come out. They told me that something that like coffee beans might come out but not this. I freaked out and went to a walk in clinic. My guy researched it. It’s called a decidual cast. It’s a shedding of your whole uterus.

This is happening to me right now, I’m so scared, it’s not nerve damage is it? I’m literally freaking out. Do you know what caused it? Did you heal?

This happened to me today! After an absolutely miserable colposcopy and silver nitrate treatment four weeks ago for a friable service (no HPV. No STDs) the doctor decided to do a four point cervical biopsy. I was still inflamed and still having painful sex, bleeding after sex, bleeding between periods, and a bad odor. She did the biopsy three days ago, one pinch biopsy in each quadrant (12/3/6/9) Because one point was bleeding badly from the pinch, they had to put pressure and silver nitrate on it to stop the bleeding. She said that there would be stuff of “all kinds of colors” coming out of me. So, I went home, had a little light bleeding and coffee ground material and thought, this isn’t so bad. Just normal period like cramps, i thought this was easy compared to the colposcopy last month. (That was so painful and I bled like my worst period for five days, just bad!)

Woke up this morning and I had bled through my pants. Went to pee and (sorry - graphic) immediately passed a huge solid clump right out of my body. I felt it coming out. I was horrified. I hate being graphic about it, but it looked almost like a piece of meat. One side was almost stringy and silvery/whitish, the other dark red and meaty looking with white bits embedded. Again, sorry but if this helps another woman I’m down to share TMI.

I actually sent my doctor a photo. I was so freaked out. I thought my cervix came out. It was the size of my inner palm cupped.

She said that it was most likely the material they use to stop the bleeding that had detached.

I had no idea this could happen. A little info beforehand would have spared me an anxiety attack.

Now, I just have to wait on my biopsy results… this sucks. Thank God the discharge was normal though. That I got confirmation from other women here was a huge comfort. I hope you are all well and healthy!
