I believe there is a change in the body I have never had a strange odor when I would urinate but after a week of radiation and one chemo treatment I have this odd smell when I go to the bathroom. I am hoping it will go away when my treatment is done.

Maybe it is caused by chemo. But you have to ask the doctor. Also, try not to use deodorants, body spray, lotions or similar products.

I am taking care of my sister who is undergoing chemotherapy. Every time I enter the area where she is, the odor exudes very strongly and it is unbearably strong. Having a bit of background in science, I hypothesize that the chemotherapy accelerates the rate of the death of the skin cells along the tumor cells. The skin cells become a source of nutrients for topical bacteria and other microorganism which in turn produce the putrid smell. Frequent bathing( twice daily) and body powders might help, but not completely eliminate the problem. Some patients might have a much milder case of body odor due differences in chemical differences at molecular levels of their skin tissue.

yes. The chemotherapy is not only killing the tumor cells but also accelerates the death rate of the normal skin cells, which in turn upon decaying produce the musty odor.Taking more showers and body powders may help in reducing the odor, but not completely eliminating it.

I have a horrible smell when I urinate and anything that the urine touches get the odor such as clothing or furniture. I was so ill during chemotherapy that I accidentally urinated on an upholstered chair. The smell was absolutely horrible! We could not get the smell out. Also it seems like another terrible smell came out of every pore in my body which caused the furniture and bedding to smell! It was and still is horrible, seven years later. My urine still smells really bad and I don't know what to do about it. Sometimes the body odor returns unexpectedly! I had just showered one night and my husband asked me what that terrible smell was? I said not me because I had just showered but it was me. I layered my body with lotion and it helped but sometimes nothing helps.

I am currently going through chemo for lymphoma and noticed I don't need to wear deodorant either.

I just started chemotherapy November 10th, 2017. I had a Bilateral Mastectomy October 13th, 2017. So my incisions are still in the healing phase. After having my first chemo treatment on Nov. 10th, I started to smell an odor coming from my left breast, which was the cancerous side. The smell is horrible!!! Makes my stomach upset! I had to call my surgeon to make sure everything was ok and he said the chemo will cause a smell. I don’t know how long the smell will last but I’m sure it will be there as long as I’m on chemo.

I also have noticed a bad foul odor in my partners bathroom, after she started Chemo. I didn't want to say anything but I could no linger take it. It made me gag. We also have a single employee bathroom where we work and today I noticed it is a bit more faint but it still has that smell I have never smelt before and can not wait for that fun to be over with.

My boyfriends dad has pancreatic cancer and he is in his terminal days. As he has gotten worse his odor is very bad and intoxicates the whole room. And if they leave the door open the smell gets to the rest of the house. So yes the smell is very real. Im not sure if it is from treatment or cancer it self or meds but its there. He cant get chemo anymore so it might be the cancer or meds that cause this foul smell
