If your penis is dry and cracking, I have a fantastic solution. I haven't seen it anywhere else on the internet, so I'm going around spreading the word. It was actually my girlfriends idea. Chapstick. I rub chapstick on the head and shaft of my penis when the skin is dry and cracking, and even bleeding, and it heals and is soft sensitive skin in just a few days. I tried using moisturizing hand lotion with aloe, but it actually aggravated the skin. I believe the penis being more sensitive than hands, chapstick is very well suited for treating it. I highly, highly recommend you try it. It changed my life.

have you guys never considered that you are all probably circumsized? i am as well, and naturally uncircumsized males are supposed to have about double the amount of foreskin that circumsized males don't have. in other words, your penis is supposed to have A LOT of skin to move so you dont get f-ed up dry, cracked, scabbed penises, but thanks to religious culture we all now get our penises chopped before we are aware that we are even alive.. thanks america, i am excited to deal with this problem my entire life.

Very strange. OP's post is exactly what happened to me. Cured chlamydia, but flaky peely gray skin on the tip of my penis persisted. It is still here, despite being "cured", 7 months later. I've kinda reached a point where I'm thinking it may never go away.

i get this every now and then. i currently have it. the only thing i can think of is when i was masturbating i used hand soap. i read that it dries out the skin of oils and other things it creates naturally. symptoms i have redness, dry dead skin covering the head of the penis and a little bit of foreskin. should just take a few days for it to heal naturally. or you could u moisturizing cream. something to bring back moisture to the area

hope this helps

This thread is being TOO overrun with people who are not listening to OP. I've got the same thing. Not a similar thing. The same thing. Got chlamydia, and got it cured. Lingering sympom was dry and cracked skin on head of penis. It was not here BEFORE chlamydia. Like OP, I know my body. That was a year ago. Since then, I've just lived with it. That's until a few weeks back I got Bronchitis. It's treated the same as chlamydia. With Azithromycin. This week I had some rough sex and coupled with the Azithromycin, my skin is now worse than ever. It's got to be linked to the antibiotic somehow. I can't afford to see a doctor. This is the Internet. There's got to be an answer. This is not thrush, diabetes or over masterbation. Far too many people are dealing with the exact problem. Chlamydia, then this. The worst part is the f*****g girl is fine and she's left me deformed. It's insanity that I've been living like this for a year.

hello all,

i hope you can all overcome this. ive personally narrowed my issue down to balanitis or a form of dry exhausted skin. having myself been suffering with this redness for 2 or more years now, just recently i found that pulling the foreskin back leaving the head exposed helps the healing process greatly. most doctors recommended topical treatment including cold water showers, but NONE recommended circumcision or pulling the skin back.
its essential to use cold water to shower, dont use harsh soaps, and use vaseline (or similiar) to keep the head lubed or protected. keeping the skin back has greatly increased the healing process and i mean in a matter of hours, 90% of redness disappeared and within 2-3 days, the marks/bruises that were stubbornly returning had finally begun to settle down unlike ever before.

Ive concluded and narrowed it down to:

1) keeping the foreskin pulled back to avoid warm, moist settings;
2) keeping the head well-lubed, cleaned and moisturised;
3) when it comes to cleaning, change shower temp to COLD and then gently use safe soaps.

Hope this works for the most of you. It so far is working for me. please provide feedback if you experience progress.

Im currently having this problem as well. Happened to me once before a few years ago, but I don't remember what I did to make it go away. But I know it's wasn't anything extreme. With that being said, the last post suggested using cold water, etc, makes that most sense to me. I've tried almost every thing else except plain ol' extra good hygiene. I figure you want the area clean and moisturized. Heat causes sweat, and as far as I know there is no such thing as clean sweat. I will post again in a few days to give an update. Wish me luck. Haha.

What you have is a version of jock itch, but worse.  Your doctor should prescribe you clotrimazole and betamethasone dipropionate cream.  You put in on twice a day and in about a week or less, the symptoms you're having will be gone.  It comes from a fungal infection which you can get from the sauna, working out, or anything like this.  The clotrimazole will fight the fungus and the betamethasone relieves the redness, swelling, itching, and other symptons.  It's not an std or allergic reaction to anything, just an extreme version of jock itch or athletes foot.  Take care:)

If you have read this far and still know nothing then you are not alone. Try using colloidal silver. Take it as recommended on the bottle and use the dropper to drop some on the head of your penis. You should see results in the first day or so. And it's a good practice to continue to take the colloidal silver which is a natural antibiotic and will kill the bad bacteria, fungus or virus.

I have had this twice and in all honesty im putting it down to excessive masterbation. leave your penis alone for a week and you should see some improvement.
