A yeast infection should produce a thick, cottage cheese-like discharge.
Also, yeast can trigger hsv1 outbreaks. Hsv1 may only come every few years or it may constantly. Some people only have it occur once or twice, it depends on how much of the vorus you were exposed to.

So i too have noticed very similar symptoms as everyone here. Ay first I thought that maybe it was genital herpes but I have been checked for that and it was negative. However over the last three months now I have noticed that I have gotten three. Its almost once a month. Its just a tiny paper cut that I don't even notice until i am itchy. I only get one and its gone in like 3-5 days. Its located at the top of my vagina, between the lips. I dont know if I have a yeats infection, but I have noticed an excessive amount of discharge over the last day or so, and that I am red. Do you think it could be genital herpes? Yeast Infection? or vaginal fissures? :(

The symptoms would be little cracks or tears whereever he put his mouth and anywhere his salavia went. So this would be above the clit, the folds of the labia, and the perinum area- as the salvia would pool to these parts. It might also itch and feel uncomfortable.
It might reoccur right before your period or whenever you have a lot of friction in that area.
HSV1 is hard to culture when its minor. A blood test isnt helpful because most people test positive due to oral exposure when they were young.
The best thing to do is wait and let your body handle the virus. In time, maybe a couple years or so, it should become much better. HSV1 doesnt do well below the belt.
Oh- if you have a cut, u might want to get it cultured for hsv1, although it make take many cultures to get it.
btw, hsv1 is not hsv2- the virus that causes genital herpes. Hsv2 causes blisters and is more severe.

Last week, after having sex with someone I see casually (but have known for over a year) it seemed like my cuts came back. But they were more like cracks now, and my lips were swollen, and when I urinated I was on fire (we all know that feeling. If only men knew...). I thought that it was an aggravated version of my prior sliver-cuts, brought on by the sex and some stress I was under. The cracks were like open sores, and I there was slight blood when I dabbed at the area with a tissue.
I went and got over the counter phenazopyridine also known as brand name "Pyridium" - the miracle pill when you are on fire down there. I kept thinking that this condition would go away. After a week of this suffering I went to the gynecologist, and she took one look and now, I have Herpes for the rest of my life.
Yesterday I was devastated. Today, I am just moving forward. I refuse to feel any kind of shame, Im not looking to blame someone. I just want to share with you that these "paper-cuts" MIGHT be a sign of something else, so dont put off going to the doctor, ok? Promise? Good.

Please go talk to someone you trust.. your school nurse, counselor, or social worker... and get that checked out. I don't like to see you hurting this way or be frightened. And no, you are not the only one.. you might try some desitin ointment, or just a cool bath, just up to your bottom.. but don't ignore it, let someone at your health department check it out and they will give you something to feel better...let me know. Your friend..

I've been on an anti-biotic for a few days now for an ear and sinus infection. It's really REALLY common for women to get yeast infections when they are on anti-biotics and birth control because the anti-biotics clear out all the good and bad bacteria which makes it easy for the yeast to grow. Everyone has a normal level of yeast but when the bacteria is gone the yeast builds up more and causes a yeast infection. From the previous posts it looks like the "paper cuts" are pretty normal. I have a yeast infection; symptoms for me are red, irritated, itchy, and paper cuts. I don't have the discharge... or at least not more than normal. If you don't have bumps I doubt its Herpes. GO TO YOUR DOCTORS. They can give you one pill and it will clear up the symptoms and the infection pretty quick between 24-72 hours. If that doesn't fix it then you MIGHT have herpes. I was freaking out because I saw so many postings about herpes having these symptoms but it makes more sense that I have a Yeast Infection and they diagnosed it as such without any tests so as long as it clears up soon I don't think I have herpes. Good luck... I know these symptoms such and it's my first time with all these problems too so I feel your pain! Good luck and talk to a doctor... they think its all normal too. So many women run into these problems.

To put your mind at ease- this doesnt happen to most people about 1/300- im just the lucky one. If you have any change down there go see a professional straight away!
I have had to give up all the luxurys in life and i dont know when i will get better! And im not talking about the little things like giving up chocolate- im talking about not being able to have sex with my fiance... ever, not being on any contraception, not being allowed to have any medicine when im sick with a cold or flu including even cough syrups etc, no alcohol, no pain killers (which means major headaches)and im having to take 3 pills a day hopeing this will just go away.
Take a deep breath and go and get your down stairs checked by a gyno straight away- it can make all the difference when a normal doctor may suggest something that doesnt work (like in my case).

PS: Wear lose fitting clothes, cotton underwear, and use sweetner instead of sugar. Eat lots of probiotic yogurt and start taking several garlic and acidphilus supplements a day. It helps me maintain some comfortability, sometimes I can even make love to my boyfriend!
