I am having an ultra sound in a few days to check a cyst in my scrotum next to my right testicle.
If it proves to be benign, can I just leave it there and not extract it out?
Also, If I have to have a biopsy, is it better to have it done by injection or surgery? And how painful are both these two procedures?
Please help me find some answers.

Hi:
It sounds like you are getting good medical attention. That's great. I'm just speculating here, but if they suggest removal without high risk to you or your sexual health, why not remove it. They will probably tell you that this will eliminate any future problems with that cyst. However, if the risk is great, do your homework before making that decision. You should always get a second or third opinion before surgery anyway. Regarding a biopsy. A biopsy by injection or extraction with a syringe, as far as I know, will only extract some of the cells. It will not extract all of them for testing. So, you will get an answer, but not a complete one. If the surgery would remove the entire cysts and some surrounding tissue, then that would be a more complete answer after testing of the tissue. However, know the consequences of the surgery before making that decision. I hope this has been helpful. Let us know what you decide and how you are doing. Take care.
