Hello,

I had surgery on May 27th for the removal of my adenoids and tornwaldt cyst that was detected on a cervical MRI(biopsy was done and came back fine). I spit up quit a large amount of blood the first few days and by Friday, I was in immense pain all weekend. I took pain meds and saw the dr on 6/3. She said I was healing well and thought the pain might be from my jaws as my mouth was held open for 45 minutes. It is now June 7th and I still have a lot of pain right beside my ears and behind each ear lobe and spit up about 3 times a day a wad of bloody mucous/tissue? Is this normal? I am a 61 year old female. Thanks for your input.

Hello Sharri

Since you are in a very specific situation and you have just had a surgery it isn’t wise to seek medical advice on the internet. Ok maybe some answer will help you but somehow I believe that it is the best solution to visit your doctor again and check with her is this how you suppose to heal.

She has surely informed you about possible complications and if you think that something of this can be after surgery complication t is better to check it. After all it is always better to be safe than sorry.

Keep us posted about your condition and I good luck. I hope that everything will turn out just fine.
