REcently on a dentist visit, I was asked by her how long I had had the mark on side of my tongue. It looks like two dark lines, practically black. No pus or pain. She referred me for a biopsy. My general practitioner said it looked like ruptured blood vessels and nothing serious. I am ocncerned.

Hi,

You have to understand that tongue is one of the organs that has many blood vessels in it. Even slightest bit on the tongue will leave a red mark because you cracked your blood vessel. The thing is that you couldn’t have had this for long time. In my opinion few days at most and it shouldn’t be long until it is gone. This thing can happen during your sleep and you even don’t notice anything until you see it in a mirror or when your dentist notices it. My suggestion is not to worry too much and just wait for couple for days and this will go away on its own.

I hope that this was helpful in any way.
