Hi,
im 19 years old and just had tonsillectomy about 9 days ago. My ENT doctor said i wasnt a bleeder during surgery so i took it as a good thing. I laid off the milk products, hard foods and stuck to soups and caprison and Gatorade. Day 6-7 i starting to feel my scabs coming off ( i took it as a good sign) i slowly starting eating soft foods in soups. day 9 i woke up in no pain, had finally slept since my surgery and ate solid food (again no pain no problems). Im tryin to sleep and suddenly felt my left side of my throat running and warm, i immediately ran to the bathroom to find out i was spitting out blood, it wasn't a much a few small blood clots and rest is saliva and blood. I rinse my mouth and tried to stop the rest of what it looked like bleeding with a popscile. the scabs on my throat are basically non-existant but im just hoping if this is NORMAL?! I really dont want to go back to cauterizing, but this is the only time i've bled since my surgery/

I haven't had my tonsillectomy yet, but my ENT said to hold ice cold water in my mouth if I bleed after surgery and if it doesn't stop within 5 minutes or if it is more than 2 Tablespoons (spit it in a container) to go to the ER.
