Hi Meep,
I am sorry to hear about your depression. Keep your chin up young lady. I went through depression when I was a teenager also. Please try to keep in mind though, that your body is going through some very NATURAL changes with your hormones, and your body continuing to grow. You are also probably learning alot more now too. I dont know how it is for you at home. I pray it is allright with you.
IT IS SOOOO important though, that you GO TO YOUR DOCTOR whom prescribed you the medication for your depression, and tell him that you feel it is not working. PLEASE dont ever go off the meds cold turkey. They have certain functions in the brain, and they can really throw you off BIG TIME !!! Tell your doctor all of your questions, worries, concerns and let HIM/HER make a choice what they want you to do.
I understand the depression, trust me. But you must make sure NEVER to go off the medicine without your doctor knowing. The reason being the ingredients in the meds target SPECIAL areas in you brain/receptors etc., and you dont want to just throw them off. If you dont feel as though the medication is helping, let you DOCTOR "ween" you off of it...ok? You might investigate talking to a pastor or church counselor to give you a "outside" point of view.
Growing and going through high school and all your NATURAL body changes used to throw me for a loop too. This too shall pass, I promise. Dont be afraid to get the help of someone you can trust. Your NUMBER one help (if possible) is to ASK YOUR MOM AND DAD. Talk to them and let them know how you feel. You dont know if you dont try.
Blessings to you young lady,
If you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to ask, ok?
