I have been on birth control but switched to Yaz three months ago and I am currently on my third pack week two. I haven't had any problems until last night. I felt pressure as if I had to pee very bad, I went to the bathroom and notice some brown discharge in my panties, then it hit me. Cramps and heavy bleeding. Bleed heavily soaking a tampon in less than thirty minutes. I did not think I was pregnant, my boyfriend and I do not use any other protection but the pill, but my period is not supposed to come for two more weeks! The other night we had a really bad arguement, could it be stress, miscarriage, abnormal bleeding....can anyone suggest anyhing besides going to the doctor? I am still bleeding (next morning) but I really cannot afford to go to the emergency room or doctor at this time. So what happened to me? And what do I do?

Well switching form birth pill can have some side affects. But you are using it long enough that you should not have any problems by now. Your hormones should work fine by now. I think that stress is one that has triggered this. You need to calm your self down. It is unlikely that you have had miscarriage because you were using protection. Give it a day or two and you should stop bleeding. Does anyone else has any idea, if so please help.

This could also be a miscarriage. You may want to report this to your OB/GYN asap for follow up just to make sure. Sometimes, if this is a miscarriage, the fetus will come out on its own. Other times you have to have a D&C to remove it.
I would suggest if the abnormal bleeding continues to seek medical attention right away. An abnormal loss of blood could cause you further problems.

Hi noclue12345, how are you doing? Has your bleeding stopped? Did you go to see a doctor? If so what did he told you? Did you do any tests? Please keep us posted on how are you doing.

It sounds to me like it could be either switching birth control pills or stress. I know that stress can throw periods off, but so can changing birth control. In either case, if it persists, it might be a good idea for you to talk to your doctor to make sure that everything is going okay with your body. It doesn't seem like much, but persistent symptoms can usually indicate a chronic condition. Does anyone else have any ideas? Thanks.
