Has anyone ever installed this stuff themselves? I have seen it at Home Depot and Lowe's and I have watched them install it on Hometime but I was wondering how easy it really is.

We did last summer, and it is definitely NOT as easy as advertised, but not impossible. It took 4 of us (we had to call for backups) most of a Saturday to put in our kitchen floor. Next time, I'm having it installed.
It should be noted neither my husband or I are noted for our home improvement skills.

It really is very easy as long as you can measure and have the right saw/blade to cut the end pieces. When we put ours in about 4 years ago, we had to use the kind that had glue. (which is fine if you remember "a little dab will do ya") But now they have the All-loc brand which just snaps together. You might have to prepare the subfloor, but that should be no prob. We just pulled up the old linoleum and put it in.
As far as quality and ease of cleaning:    (3 out of 3) They come with a great warranty and could even handle high water areas like bathrooms and entryways. (We put one in our kitchen--a light pine)
They also have some beautiful tile-look patterns that we installed in our entry way.
If we ever own another house, we'll definitely do it again.
Good luck!

Wow, I'm very impressed and so jealous!! I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE hardwood floors. It's not that I don't think I could do it (I would be doing it alone, hubby is not inclined that way), but Dad keeps telling me how expensive that stuff is. Given the idea that we may not be here for even another year, it would just be a waste of money (well, not really since it would improve the kitchen greatly, but probably wouldn't add that much to the value of the home). My next kitchen though, will have hardwood one way or another!
Good luck FB! Let us know what you end up doing, and be sure to take lots of pics--before, during and after. :)

We may be doing this soon so this was interesting to read. No glue for me, I want the non glue stuff.

If they offer you the kit of tools to rent, rent it! We did and were super happy we did. It comes with little spacers and wedges and neat things that will make your life easier. Also, a soft-headed mallet will be ideal.
And Katt: ready or not here I come!!! :wavey:
Sometimes, if you have a small area to tile, you can get a discount if you purchase what someone else didn't need (Or that they didn't pick up all together) and sold back to the local flooring store. We got a great deal at the flooring store and they loaned us a video and the special tools box.

I probably won't start it until the spring when we finish paying off some bills but I wanted to get an idea of what I was getting myself into. I have a concrete subfloor so that shouldnt be to hard to prep except for ripping up the old carpet. As it gets closer I am sure I will pose the question again.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
