I don't think I do. I'm a software developer. People new to my company or visitors from other companies will sometimes start to make fun of software geeks in my presence and then someone has to point out to them that I am one of 'those people'. They are always amazed. I think it has to do with how I pay attention to the subtle details... like personal hygiene and being able to speak to other humans.
I'm also not exactly what you would call 'introverted', which is a common trait associated with software people. I know- it is pretty hard to imagine me as not being shy and quiet. But it happens.

I think you'd make a gazillion dollars as a comedian. But you'd need a sidekick...
I'm a scientist. I don't fit the profile 'cause I don't have a pocket protector, I don't wear glasses, I'm not anti-social and there's a rumor going around that I look like Princess Di and have a nice a$$. :P
True dat.
You and Cheeks have changed my perception of lab scientists forever.
After seeing both of your profile pics, I've changed my vacation plans from Hawaii, Ibiza or Spring Break in Daytona to the "American Society of Microbiology Conference" in Anaheim.

It's a good time for sure. Pasties and gold lame thongs are standard apparel for the women demonstrating the Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometers.

Going on this as a basis, since we work at clone firms....
No, I don't fit my industry standard at all. I don't curse much (or when I do its in a completely different context than most here) I never yell (I'm not sure I could...) I'm hardly ever disgruntled, I don't sweat profusely, I don't usually have a vein bulging from my head/neck/etc. I do eat fast food though....

I don't think I look like a teacher, but I know I don't dress like one....
I dressed up today...jeans and a sweater.
I refuse to wear my ID around my neck.
I still smile and act like I like students.
